    Black engine oil!?

oil change on a diesel should be like a religion , do them on time, every time , and use something good like Rotella and don't beat the **** out of it and it will run a very long time, my 1008 is a 87 , did it's time in the Canadian Army , a buddy had it for about 6 years , I've owned it for 15...

Best way to hook up a 24 volt winch?

Take a look at the BV-206, the winch fits into a socket at the front or rear of the vehicle and powered from the slave receptacle , everything is quick on and off,

    Belt Wiki

I highly recommend you stay away from the Dayco , always start to make noise , go with the Goodyear Gatorback , much better belts,

    Bought a CUCV M1010 !

this truck appears to have had the arctic heater kit installed, heated battery boxes and mount for the fuel fired heater on driver's side inner fender , check to see if it still has the arctic oil pans, does it still have the intake hole in the driver's fender or has the fender been replaced?

    Received my Ac-Delco 60G glowplugs

Assel , I think your going to hate this , the part number you show there appears to be a Robert Bosch AG number, go see a parts supplier that handles Bosch and have him run the number in the Bosch system, I think those plugs are closer to you than you think,

M1028 cucv no start glow plug

something else to look at for next winter is a block heater, try to keep your truck stock , that way the TM's will always be a help to you , if you start messing the wiring up , only you will know what has happened , maybe,

What is this outlet under hood in m1008

Not stock , looks like a bubba 120 volt plug install , you need to trace this , also take a meter and check it for power , does the truck have a block heater and is this somehow wired with that , may also have been some one's idea to run 12 or 24 volt lights or something else off of the trucks...

    Another not starting post.

I hate to ask , fuel in tank? with nothing at the injector start bleeding at the filter and work your way along the system and check ALL your rubber and metal lines along the system for holes , cuts etc. and that all clamps are tight,

    flat battery? new to this

Go to your parts guy and see what brands, ie Goodyear , Fram, he sells for belts , filters , etc. and get back to me , the best way to deal with this is if you give them the brand and part number , also make yourself a binder with part jobber numbers for the future,

    Another not starting post.

make sure you crack the lines at the injectors , you may have a air block there also, having seen photos of some of the TX trucks where all fluids have been drained they may also have run the trucks dry,

my truck also has the Dodge body on it , gen was missing so I installed a 120/240 gen , great power source for events and for running tools on recovery jobs,

with all those switches it looks like a British rally car /truck, take it back to stock , life is easier that way , the TM's mean something then,

    Death wobble AGAIN!?

take a look at your front shocks also (to make sure you have the correct ones up there, someone used my 1031 as a parts source for their 1/2 ton and just switched parts back and forth) and balance your front wheels, also take a look at your brake discs to make sure you do not have anything going...

    -10to -15 degree start up with 1009

find yourself a fuel fired coolant heater , runs on the vehicles power , I know that I've seen them here for sale , plumbs into your coolant and fuel system , this is also part of the arctic heater system, one way to get around the no power problem,
  19. eme411

    -10to -15 degree start up with 1009

Install a block heater and stop using ether unless you have money for a new motor, the block heater is much cheaper,

Mulemac01's M1028A1 recovery and restore thread.
