This is a build I have followed with much respect for you and your support group. I just wanted to say when it comes to your moister problem in the air lines I found if you let it cycle the first time drain it then repeat it one more time it seems to decrease the moister problem in the air...
Without putting your hands on it or any of the trucks it's a crap shoot. I know guys who even go to the trouble to preview the trucks and still get a lemon some times. So all in all it's just the luck of the draw.............
Well I have to chime in and say for my first SS rally I couldn't have ask to meet a finer group of people. It was both comforting and inspiring to meet such a great group of people with a common bond. Andy your truck shows me just how far I have to go and much can be accomplished when you are...
Congrats on the truck. Yes they are tubless and you could try to put slime in them but if the gasket they use in the middle of the rim is leaking then you will be wasting your money as it will never make it to it. If it will pump back up and hold the air until you get home you will still need to...
This question is not new and the answers are always pro and con. In the long run you can buy parts new and used. I have a 923A1 but, so far as any commercial use for it no not in my book. The cost of the truck is fair for the most part if you shop around. Getting insurance is sometimes a pain...
Hank I know from reading your post that you were very carefull to do everything right. This is just living proof that stuff happens to the best of us. I will be watching to see what was the cause of this problem........
Dawn dish washing detergent and a stiff brush, add enough water to get the detergent worked into the channel and then try to slide it side to side . It should break lose a little at a time but it will come . The clean up is simple just a water hose .......
Hank is there a chance that you may have missed some rust spots in your prep work ? I know we talked about prepping with the rust converter then priming and then using a Krylon paint to just coat the primer and seal it for good. The brown spots sound like rust starting to come through. I have...
Can you say Jewelry????? Then you can start looking at 5tons without any grief. A caret for her = a 5ton for you......I was lucky enough to lose the first wife win a 5ton and have a second wife that loves both of us :)
Well this is starting to get interesting so please count me plus 1. If anyone is coming through Florence let me know and we can roll together. Adam I will of course bring a case of cokes and some ice but, what else are you in need of being brought. Paper plates ,towels, chips please let me know...
If I were not so far away I would jump at the chance. I have supported the Blue Star Mothers in several drives and projects and it is always an honor. Come on guys it's for a great cause lend the man a hand and forget the pay they have already paid in full with the most priceless possession they...
The way I have always found a blown head gasket was like the man said oil in the water or water in the oil. The way it is sprayed every where really looks like an oil leak more than the head gasket to me. I may be wrong but it wouldn't be the first time :) Just the first time today
I have to say it is a very professional job and the pride in the details shows. I have kept the paint info saved to my favorites for my next project.
I just bought another product from SW in the resilience line which is a exterior acrylic latex that I really like. I don't intend to put a lot...
The commercial tire shops around here will not touch the tire for under $38.00s a tire. You could put a gallon of slime in each tire for less than that. I like the fact of the antifreeze even better as a cost effective way. Also remember that weights will most likely be knocked off in the sand...
To my knowledge of these trucks there was a 3 year Mft run on the production of these trucks. Also even with the rebuild date it didn't change the year to when it was rebuilt. The year it was made it will always be the same. I have an A1 and it is a 1985 with two rebuild tags on it yours will...
Thanks for the video that is the kind of help from people like you that I joined this site for. There are volumes of info out there that you won't find in any TM. Now as far as the 177,s they are small enough to fit on almost commercial balancing system but, they can be balanced the same way the...
In this case I would really just either do a tear down and inspect every thing until you find the problem or take it to a pro. This sounds like the tire is locking up and dragging. If it did would think you would surely be able to know because of the smoke or the squealing alone. Good luck and...
