Is anyone selling just these? Brown out here in OKC wants a ton and the only place that makes U-Bolts locally wants 80 dollars... so 400 for front springs. I'd love to have just the hangars and u-bolts and buy a trailer.
A complete bob kit for 300 is considerably less than what he is selling them for. Its 90 dollars and some tax for u bolts for most of the places I called around here.
And what I do for profit and what I want to pay something are completely different and yes I'm possibly a hypocrite when it...
That's what I figured. My Junker is from Goldsby and I paid too much lol. I think that offroad part in Lexington would store it for 20 a month which would let me get enough parts off of one. Also people out there would probably want a lot of the parts I don't need (like axles). Anyone know...
Well if anyone has front springs yet or a cheap trailer let me know. Brown wants 310 and I have to get u-bolts and considering that a used deuce can be had for around 1100, and I can get other parts off it and a crap load of scrap, there is no way springs should be 30% of the value of the vehicle.
Yeah I have someone that will take the rubber I think. I cut around the rim as close as I could, doesn't look like a tires on there :) We only get 5.50 per 100 here :( Was 6.50 a month ago. The place takes washers and dryers and stuff surely they wont notice the amount of rubber thats left...
They wont take them with tires when I called... Might sneak them i the load anyhow if it weren't 10 i'm sure they wouldn't care.
And again 25 to fix a flat. Awesome. I'm not fixing a flat I'm trying to get rid of the 10 tires blocking my garage from being used :)
I'm more likely to get killed from a coil spring screwing with suspension than I am a ring on a deflated tire. It's the air-pressure/tire combo that has the sudden release of energy. If you would like for me to do the physics behind calculations behind it, I'd be happy to do so. But no I...
So I'm bobbing my deuce and finally got new wheels/tires on. Scrap yards won't take wheels here with tires on. I also have a place wanting the tires for their track. How do I separate the things? I've seen the video on youtube and have no massive pick thing. I've tried plasma cutting the ring to...
It's not that the springs can't handle the abuse, it's the poor handling and characteristics to it. I mean I could bolt the axle to the frame, and that would work and be plenty strong, but the ride would be crap :) I called Browns and he was very proud of his springs. His springs are half of...
On suspension geometry and axle wrap blocks are a no-no. While it's fine for a lot of people it isn't for me, it move the rotation of the axle away from the spring. This is why many jeeps and such have the axle above the spring. It keeps the loads of the axle wanting to rotate instead of the...
I bobbed my deuce and am not wanting to run trailer brackets. Eventually a 4 link is in order but until then I don't want 4 inch blocks in the suspension. Blocks make springs very ineffective. And my deuce is pretty much done except for the springs.
I'm driving from Norman, OK to Peoria, IL around June 6th then back the 12th. I need front springs and hangers badly! I didn't know if the classifieds would get the exposure needed. I'm surprised someone isn't producing hangers that works like the front hangers yet for trailer springs.
Also...
Yeah my winch is being installed under the bed so UV shouldn't be as much of a problem, also if the synthetic breaks and you know how to do the weave it can be repaired in the field with nothing more than a broken writing pen. I'll keep you informed!
Love the truck, yours almost got me to not bob my deuce, but after driving mine around town the length was just a bit to much. I have a series 18 as well, awesome winch, im using synthetic line I purchased off ebay, dyneema (sp.) fiber used for sail rigging lines originally, higher test than...
Warthog is a man among men! A new fuel pump should be in today and I have to get a master cylinder rebuild kit since the NEW master cylinder i bought didn't work.
To busy to work on it today though, have a test tomorrow (college is this biggest slow down of this more important deuce work) and...
I was out there with the red deuce. Got there just before y'all left. Mine will be running better next time (could have gotten ya out still though :) ) and will have a warn series 18 winch on it.
Ok so I love this thread, but got bored in the proportioning section and it being a common system since my deuce will be bobbed. Couldn't you then run the separate systems?
