Way it looks on the Stewart Stevenson FMTV's; same for any of today's cars and trucks, is we will have to become electronically knowledgeable. Just turning a wrench and understanding combustion and gears etc. no longer cuts it. In fact "mechanical" knowledge today may even be of be lesser...
Sat. going to look at 1078 Im considering purchasing. Supposedly it has had the axle conversion. Besides driving it of course..... is there a way to tell if the conversion is done? Im guessing no cause thinking the conversion is all inside the pumpkins.

The 1078 I am purchasing the PO told me he lowered the bed by 14". Will get pictures next week (PO out of town) and will hopefully be picking it up then on Fri.
