Bud Boy and I did our good deed today!

I did a good deed once (I've only had my HMMWV for a year and in FL there aren't a lot of stuck people) and it didn't turn out so well - but the story is kinda funny... So about a week after I got my MV I went cruising with my brother and sister in law and their two kids late one afternoon...

    Buying a New HMMWV

Seriously? I spent a ton with them last year when I restored my MV. What prompted that change?

    Buying a New HMMWV

So... I'm a bit confused, are you looking for a HMMWV to do the work on now yourself (or have done), or do you strictly need to find one where the work is complete. <---- The M1026 in my avatar block is mine :-)

Offered a Deuce, for the best price.

The Canadian Army has active duty soldiers that worked on the M211? That's incredible! When did Canada take them out of service?

Offered a Deuce, for the best price.

Congrats Var - that's really cool! We can all use a little good news these days, even if its good news for someone else! Now you have to share the love by sharing the pics when you get them!

Are those available on the market?

    90W GL-1 as fuel?

Yikes! Diesel has a flashpoint of 143 degrees F. 90W has a flashpoint of 440 degrees F... That seems like a big difference... That doesn't mean it won't work though.. There is also a much higher flashpoint for vegetable oil, (600+ degrees F according to wikipedia), and I think people run...

    Best Way To Preserve Rubber?

Ok - I did a search and nothing came up so here's my question: What do you think the best way to preserve rubber might be for small rubber parts and larger items? We all know that when exposed to light and air rubber will dry out and crack (tires, dashboards, gaskets, seals, etc). I did a...

    Selling in the Forums

I made this suggestion to DogHead yesterday in chat and I may as well throw it out there for everyone: It seems that the issue people have with the classified section is that it is not searchable nor is it highly visible. Items placed in there can quickly be lost in the ether as other posts...

    CUCV Cash for Clunkers

So the government sold the vehicle through GL (or something) for about $2000 and then bought it back for $4000? Great use of our tax dollars.

and you thought a GL recovery was hard

Really cool - how did you come across that story?

    tatra 813 new owner

Wouldn't an storing your crane boom in an extended position also mean extended hydraulic pistons? I would be worried about pitting and rust forming on the polished surfaces. Or am I an idiot?

    Funny Auction Listing

No specifics here! Found this on GL - they were careful to let you know "No Mutilation Required"... sort of stating the obvious IMHO!

Just found this pic of a sweet 5 tonner Harley Davidson style

That's pretty neat - it really shows that there is a chance for those old soldiers to become civilians after they complete their tour... and fancy ones at that! Love to see more pics of it!

    African Queen 1943 M16A2 MGMC Half-Track

Mark - I'm sure that everyone here will keep you in their thoughts while you recouperate from the surgeries. Hopefully if you want to stay in the MEB will recognize that your value to the Army doesn't start at your foot and end at your ankle! I remember just after I left Bragg we had a Golden...

Or... we could just show what our bridge layers can do, which seems like a more reasonable option!
