How many miles and how often do you drive it? What's your oil pressure and have you checked out the HEUI injection actuation pressure stability?
What are you ultimately planning to do with the truck? For most of us, ECO hubs are a very good idea for drivetrain longevity.

Could be bits of deteriorated old fuel lines maybe? From the inner lining? Good thing you replaced them. I haven't run across anything that looked like that in the fuel system on these trucks. Maybe someone used some gasket maker on the fuel filter gasket?
I wrenched on M35's in the Motorpool and was universally ALWAYS required to drive the damn things due to a perpetual lack of enough soldiers that knew how to drive a manual transmission. Well acquainted with those turds as well as 800 and 900 series trucks.
