I have had 2006 Dodge HD wheels on my truck, and although they bolt up and fit. The bcakspacing is too great and they rub the drag link/tie rod. Also I think it was 4Wheeler that did an article about a year or so ago about putting H2 wheels on a budget older chevy project truck. The jist of...
thanks, those pictures certainly make everything alot clearer. I feel confident enough now that I'm ready to attempt the beadlocks. Now I just gotta work on getting them to my house.
ahh, I see now. I was thinking more along the line of the aftermarket beadlocks where the outside ring itself sandwiches the bead creating the beadlock. I've got it now. Still yet to put the assembly into practice but I think I got the basics.
any 8 lug GM wheel of that vintage should work, truck or van. I found one on the side of the road that was in good shape, all the markings were the same as the wheels my truck came with. Could just be blind luck. But if you can't get your hands on a military one, most salvage yards should...
I've gotten lots of good info from CCATLETT myself. I'm looking into doing the same thing with my truck except I'm looking to run the 37" radial version of the tires. Which consequently is causing most of my headaches.
How is the run flat part of the beadlock? If i am understanding all this correctly the runflat is a solid ruber ring the is pressed over the innner hub of the wheel halves giving thetruck somethingto ride on in the even of a tire failure. the beadlock portion is on the wheels themselves and...
that pretty much sumsit up. I wasn't aware you could just leave the run flats out. If thats the case forget them. I didn't figure theywould be too complicated but until you acually do them who knows.
I've been searching to no avail. Does anyone have a write up, or know of and where I can get a TM or book that explains or outlines how to mount tires to and assemble the hummer bead locks? I can't imagine that there is anything too complicated about them. They seem fairly straight forward...
RE: Beadlocks with 37" MTR
I knew it probably wouldn't be a bolt on thing, I was just hoping to block it or re-arch the springs until I feel like putting the lift in.
I've got a nice set 12 bolt beadlocks and Goodyear MTS radilas set up but before I pull the trigger I wanted to find out what I should expect to get them to fit. I know at the very least I need two inch wheel spacers to get the back spacing right. And I've seen the trucks from Alpha Heaven with...
I don't know if this will really help you but I figured I'd put it out there just in case. I have a blue back seat from a civilian 88 fulsize GMC Jimmy. The truck and I are on Long Island. Eventually the truck will get scrapped after I take what I want off of it. Mostly just the front end...
RE: here
I understand that most of you want to keep the vehicles as military as possible but what about the southwind heaters that alot of tractor trailers use. I know I've seen smaller ones the size of the artic heaters and theywould alot better than a blockheater and easier to find than a...
RE: Re: RE: pioneer tool rack
mine doesn't have a rack, had no idea they even had one. never seen one for sale for them. I just noticed that the hummer and M715 variety seemd to be the most common, so... they seemed the most likely to retro fit. Medlog I never got a PM from you.
I am interested in putting a HMMWV pioneer tool rack on my M1008 but before I do I was wondering if someone could tell me what tools are supposed to be with the rack. I see the racks for sale fairly often so thats not an issue. but I never see the tools. Whats supposed to be there? A Shovel...
I had no Idea that Tom passed. He was great when I bought my M1008 from them. He was most of the reason I bought it. He let me roam arond looking for stuff in the yard for it, even let me take my troop seats of the other running M1008. He'll be missed.
thanks, after seeing FMJ's truck I think I may just go cheapo steelies and eliminate some of problem associated with the military beadlocks. But the HMMWV wheels are sweat looking...
