You can replace the piston seals without taking everything apart, but not the rod's seal.

Unless you're going for a concourse restoration, why not use a universal reservoir? I did indeed buy two diagrams from G. Hood, and could sell one.

Buy spare seals. Lots of them. Or get a new rod.

Congratulations! I like hearing when gambles pay off. And with the snowblower, I can relate. I do the start-up routine differently, though. Maybe because I hate slipping clutches. I always keep the hand throttle at a low idle, except when running the backhoe - then it's set at around 1,200 to...

    are there any flu419's left?

I think it says New Jersey, but either way, it's not a FLU.

    are there any flu419's left?

There's a lone SEE coming up for sale, next week, I think. At least at a quick glance, it didn't look overly tempting.

    FLU419 Snow Plow

The quick tach conversion (done primarily for the snowblower) was fairly well covered in the main SEE, HHMH, HME owners thread about two years ago. The blade just hooks onto the same mounts as the loader uses. And speaking of using, pictured is the first time my pavement breaker was used. The...

    FLU419 Snow Plow

Here are three different ways to clear snow with a FLU. I have pushed snow with the bucket to the point that the fenders bent a bit. I only use the bucket to move snow piles out of the way. The snow blower setup works fairly well, the main drawback being that at the rpms the snowblower likes...

Chris, it sounds like you'll have to work on your SEE for a couple of days before worrying about washing and waxing it. Welcome, and enjoy!

    SEE hose reel swivels

Getting at least one of them off would be nice, since there may be a manufacturer logo or part number on it. I didn't try with completely locking the reel in place, so that's still an option I should try. It'd be interesting to compare the internals, I think. With any luck the swivels are from...

    SEE hose reel swivels

Other than the NPT on the reel end, the swivels I looked at were all different. So far I've only plugged the hoses and yesterday I parked the (formerly) leaky one in the garage. Now I can disassemble one swivel and see what's in there. They won't come off without a fight, which is why...

Umm, have you considered the geometry of such a chain-up? LOTS of stress on things unless you lift the loader up above the cab by a bit.

Push the lever down, to float position. Or loosen the fittings on the cylinders. Then they can lock the loader in "drive position" with the small brackets at the cylinders. Now I will lose sleep trying to figure out how I could chain the loader in a raised position.

Got some more feed for (primarily) the FLUs.

Yeah, that's what I thought. In which case I'd try to find a brush hog that's made to run on about 20 gpm.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Jim, naturally I can't remember the max flow and pressure numbers of the rear hydraulics now, but 30 gpm sounds close. I use the rear circuit for a snow blower and ran "extension hoses" from the backhoe's connections to the loader. It's somewhat described in this thread if you go back two...

Well, first you'll need to take a complete section off. Then I found that shortening the inside by about a foot makes them fit somewhat well...except that it can't be done by shortening it in only two places. If memory serves me, I now have five places with three links eliminated and one with...

    are there any flu419's left?

Moving snow seems to be a forte of Unimogs. Which reminds me, I need to install the snow blower on the SEE while the weather is nice. But to give you an idea, I have dented the fenders and been unable to open the door after pushing through wet snow with a SEE's loader. And that was using only...

    Pristine ones, no doubt.

As SeeNebraska pointed out, winter is coming. So I finally got around to start fitting the meaningful but overly large tire chains I bought from a forum member at least a year ago. Shortening ladder chains to fit is easy, this type takes a bit more thinking I've noticed.
