I have one I bought to be a parts SEE, and for the second time I ended up with one that's nicer than what I'm using. Except for the forklift damage.
If you're interested, PM me. I am not about to start taking any parts off of it, it's way to nice for that.
Dug grave number three in a relatively short time, out of four total. Practice makes perfect, so I am at least getting somewhat good at operating the backhoe.
Was going to check the thermostat for the fans after completing the task, as I was running a (for me) unusually high rpm of about 1,450...
Long overdue, today I finally made some new hood and battery box keys. Someone here asked about them months ago.
Bought the Craftsman 8mm sockets (P/N 33084) on eBay for about $2 a piece, and the so-called locomotive key for about $7.
The 10mm ratcheting wrenches were around $3 each on eBay...
You're ahead of me (but don't feel special, most people are). I have yet to cut down the Pewag chains for the SEEs, and get the plows and snow blowers out of the shed.
Luckily, global warming has delayed the winter a bit, so there's still a possibility that it can get done in nice, dry weather.
Okay, it's looking better for the Summer SEE.
Checked the strainer and there was very little black crap in the bowl. Pulled the drain plug on the tank, and while the hollow part of the plug was full of crap, that was about it - no noticeable debris in the fuel that came out. Looks like Bio-Bor...
Good idea! I was going to cut the excess thread off, but if I have acorn nuts of the correct size that'd be nicer. Kind of lipstick-on-a-pig nicer, but still.
Finally got a chance to make a bracket for the QD couplings for the snow blower on the Winter SEE.
Wish I had the time to make something nicer, like I did for the tractor, but while it looks like crap it does work better than zip ties. At least I hope it will.
I'd think the filters did their job and kept the crap out of the injection pump. The fungus/bacteria is probably all throughout the system, but when even modern and much more finicky pumps can tolerate that, I don't think it's an issue on a SEE.
The strainer's mesh can easily be cleaned with...
Oh, 10 degrees isn't particularly cold for around here in the winter. It'll get down to -20 at times.
I did make the rounds yesterday, putting anti-gel in most of the tanks with diesel. In the process it became painfully obvious that I need to sell a few vehicles.
Counted 15 vehicle tanks (two...
Visibility in a SEE as delivered does leave a little to be desired, but a back-up camera?
I removed the spare, which helps a lot with rearward visibility.
On the driver's side, a large (6-7-inch) spot mirror below the regular one allows me to see the left rear tire, and more.
Did the spot...
With the highly publicized onset of global warming, I wasn't going to use any anti-gel this winter.
But I may have to rethink that. It's supposed to be 10 degrees tonight.
I put two Optima Group 31s in the Winter SEE. Lots of room left over, and could get rid of the slider setup since it's no longer needed.
If you have the patience to look for them, there are photos on the "owners thread", from about two years ago.
So true. Two days ago I solved a starting issue by finally admitting defeat and replacing a battery that load tested just fine. Last spring, three out of four load tested fine in another vehicle, but it wasn't until replacing them with two new batteries that it fired right up.
Neither one was a...
