RE: Legal issues with transporting "troops" in a D
In North Carolina, the cut off for kids in the back of a vehicle is 12 unless certain requirements are met, then it is lower... I have a page on my website with the General Statute on it.
Since the M35 actually has provisions for hauling...
Charles Talbert at M Series Rebuild in Norwood, NC, has done a couple of B5.9 repower projects. One that he did that was written up in MV Magazine a few years back was a M108 that was then shipped to HI...
It was a nice rig...
The only other thing that I do with mine is to make sure that the wiring is connected to the frame and not to the bed (I've had it happen on one and ripped the harness when I went to dump it the first time...).
Great set of photos. Good to hear that you are about ready for a road test.
I hope not to have this problem show up on one of my rigs, but I really appreciate knowing that this thread is here for reference if it does.
Thanks.
Use a one and a half inch (1 1/2") lug nut wrench on the lug nuts. A Budd wrench or socket is the preferred route. Budd sockets that I have use a 1" drive (air wrench or breaker bar). I've also been known to use my Craftsman box wrench on them, but you'll find a correct socket less...
The only lube in the axle should be the grease on the hub bearings. They are serviced the same as for a M37 (so you can borrow the TM from one of them if needed) as the M101 and M101A1 share the same hub assembles as the truck. You really shouldn't see any lube just by pulling the caps.
In...
Looks good Carter. In fact, it looks close enough to my M101A1 that I suspect many folks would not notice the differences between them unless they looked closely...

The yellow nose is a distinctive feature of all trucks in 8th Trans Grp. The distinctive yellow stripes were employed to help the commanders orbiting above in helicopters identify which units convoy he was looking down at, so they marked them all...
As an example, notice the shots of the M37...
I did the same thing (and renewed the top of the fenders with stuff 3x as wide) with the 3M product sold at Agri-Supply... Price was surprisingly low considering... :)
It's been holding up well over the past year.
Frank,
I've gotta say that you are comming across just right in those interviews. :) Calm, articulate, and patriotic (and with a great shirt as well).
It looks like the bulk of the folks in your area are behind you, as are we.
Wish I was closer, I'd drive up in the five ton for the...
I know that this is the same weekend as Clinto's rally, but I thought that I would cross post it here for those folks who live near the rally site in WV who may not be able to make it to GA, but who'd still like to get out and ride...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: head lights
I have been running Hella H4 E-code assemblies on all my stuff for years... even have a page on my website that discusses part numbers and such for the housings, bulbs, and wiring adapters...
Best prices that I have found for 6/12/24 volt H4 burners is at...
Isn't that Clinto's driveway??
I've never seen it in the daylight, but I did back a five ton down it at night and in the rain once...
That's a really good looking rig in that photo...
The trailers do seem to be conservatively rated, especially when you consider the use that they are...
Instead of lopping off the military plug, consider just unpluging the cable from its junction to the main trailer harness at the tongue and putting it up for sale here (or donating it to a MV owner near you who may need it for a trailer). That way, you will have numbered wire ends at the main...

Well, that makes things interesting/difficult...
I guess folks that are interested in voting, etc. on the date/campsite will need to register (the form to do so pops up when you try to follow the link), then scroll down to get to the correct...
The M715 guys are going to get together in Sept or Oct for a ride at Uwharrie NF. They hope to get a date set in the next few weeks (no later than the end of this month).
They'd like to include any of us that would be interested in ride at Uwharrie since they love MV's of all types, not just...
Here is a shot of a M151 heater mounted in my M37 (the photo that was used, once again, to sell one on Ebay) that I have on my website.
I also have a couple of pages on the site with instructions for utilizing the full kit from a M151 in a M37 so that one has defrost as well as heat (since the...
Last time I purchased a kit, (it's been a few years) it was something like $100, and the heaters were selling by themselves for around $45...
A fellow just sold a bare heater on Ebay (using a photo from my website showing the unit installed in my M37--didn't ask before he did, but then, he...
