    Water fording demil m1123

Yes power steering. Fluid will be DEX 3 transmission fluid (do not use DEX 6 even though it says backwards compatible; that is only for transmissions) Open up the cap and check fluid level. If it shows as good then run truck for a minute or two with the cap off and see what the level does. If...

CAN SUPPORT BAR BE REMOVED TO ADD MORE LEG ROOM?

The H1 doesn't use it, because on the H1 they put reinforcement brackets on the floor somehow (from what I have read). That bar supports the floor panel in the 2 man configuration for the cargo area, and is used when bolting in some of the various bodies in the back of the 2 man truck (such as...

    Locking fuel cap available?

What he meant was you can add a locking fuel door to the outside, to make accessing the fuel cap more difficult to those types of people. You can do a search online for them, or here are a couple links that came up from a quick search...

    6.5L Serpentine Belt Conversion

I believe at minimum you have to swap to a different water pump as it is reversed direction on the serpentine from the V-belt style. Some of the other accessories may also be reverse spin. So yes, it is possible, but does involve more than just swapping pulleys.

Rear fender condenser to Red Dot install thread

So I've seen a couple questions on facecrook about manuals for the HMMWV red dot system. I'm tired of going through my bookmarks every time I want to share them, so I'm going to link them here instead, as I usually end up linking this thread anyway. Red Dot Parts catalog. The main difference...

    4L80E Transmission Fluid Type?

Either DEX 3 or DEX 6 work just fine. Dex6 is backwards compatible in transmissions. It is NOT backwards compatible in the power steering system, so the choices are either keep multiple fluids on hand for the truck, or keep everything as DEX 3 and only stock one fluid. (The military likes to...

    Mystery power failure

So you're running a jumper wire from the batter to the "run" position on the key switch, not the "Battery" or power inlet portion of the switch? If I'm reading things right, wire 11A should be the power into the switch. That is the wire spot you should be putting power to from the battery for...

    Mystery power failure

So what you are saying is that you aren't getting 24V to the start switch (and if it's a key switch you should ditch it and put the original paddle switch in, as a lot of key switches have been known to cause issues and kill start boxes) If you haven't already, download TM 9-2320-280-20-1 and...

Phoenix Worldwide F0862-99-ESS-JCS Shelter fit on M1102?

yeah. A lot of the shelters that go on the HMMWV fit down where the rear passenger doors would be and take up that space. Some only have the front bulkhead area extend down and then the bottom is the standard filler panel; others like this one fill out the whole area.

Phoenix Worldwide F0862-99-ESS-JCS Shelter fit on M1102?

I'm not sure of the internal width of the M1102, but if it's exterior dimensions are the same width as the HMMWV you'd have to either cut out the sides of the trailer at the front, or narrow down the shelter where it fits into the trailer bed. It might work on one of the LTT chassis that...

    Rear seat questions

That being said, I don't know if the mounting bolts are the same. If they are I see no reason why you can't use them in both spots. Not like you'll be the one that has to sit there anyway.

    Rear seat questions

According to the TM it is 2 different part numbers for the bottom cushion and the back.

    1123 suspension

There are several different spring options for the HMMWV depending on how you plan to have your truck set up. There are also several aftermarket spring sets available. The aftermarket springs will be the ones to soften the ride more than the military ones, as a soft ride wasn't on the...

Sound deadening and custom interior install project

As armored trucks go, the HMMWV wasn't originally designed for armor to begin with, and adding it compromises the truck in lots of other ways. The armor itself is pretty compromised as well. If I had the money for an armored truck of some type, I'd look for one that was armored to begin with...

No worries, you just happen to catch me when I'm sitting in front of my computer.

It was one of those days...

I do know there was a guy in this area a couple years back that had a truck with a 6 digit vin, that then sold it off to a dealership. That dealership listed it with a 17 digit vin, the last 6 numbers were the truck serial number and I don't remember what they used to fill out the rest of the vin.

It was one of those days...

It's still just a 6 digit number. I'm pretty sure that's the reason for a code being thrown up in their system; they had to contact State Patrol to verify that it was valid to use or something like that. Once State Patrol or whoever it was verified it was okay in the system, I paid and they...

Charge / Tend HMMWV via slave port

If you're unsure the condition of your batteries, it's best to do 12V charging to each battery individually to bring them up to full charge before doing anything else. The slave port charger is more just for maintaining a charge, if there is any doubt about charge levels then always go...
