Yes, I have not researched the casting numbers but looks like a very common 70's-80's GM 1/2 ton pick up mst cyl with power brakes before they went to alum bores with plastic reservoirs.
I do not have first hand knowledge or tested HMMWV brakes yet but in another lifetime sold parts.
The hydroboost is the mechanical assist in place of a vacum brake booster in gas powered engines to make the brake effort/pedal softer/easier. If the hydroboost was out, on the brake side you would...
I recall those units sold in the GL day somewhere out of Ga and an obscure location that was not a usual GL site. Memory is telling me either Gen set or pump?
I know there has been a discussion about doing it at the old Armory in Poplarville and possibly campers staying at Lee's place ( can't remember screen name). Mississippi rifle has access to trail riding acreage not to far away. He was coordinating with Lee.
Let me see if I can get them to...
What looks weird to me is that is has the frame extensions but I do not believe it has a winch installed. Also, no controls in cab.
I believe the M942 is a stripped chassis.
Then Yes, All you need is the block off plate that the trailer connector & cover bolts to. You might also need a different collar spacer for the pintle on the inside. It seems the airlift bumper needs the longer spacer with a built in zerk fitting. New Holland makes it.
There is slack to make it reach in every truck but you have to remove the wiring from 2 or 3 of the existing bolted on loom clamps and route differently. Part of the pintle extension kit is a small *45 bracket on the inside of the bumper to mount a new loom clamp. That loom clamp and the bracket...
The last large batch I saw came out of RRAD most were missing at least one tire/rim and laying in the dirt, all tan, very few covers, mostly fair to rough. Fuzzytoaster I think got a whole pile of them.
My first GL purchase was my tan A2 at RRAD. I had looked at several auctions back to back...
Brenton is even advertising on my local craigslist. I think they like the retail $. Too bad other military suppliers have not seen the demand for hobby $.......
painted Grey makes me think it is USAF. Group seating for briefing/de-briefing flight crews right at their birds?
Also very cool with the lift gate and very few out there with that also.
Might be tough to find info on body. Diamond B in Calif appears to be history. I still think the expando...
That is definitely a low number made specialty build. M942 is the heavy duty stripped chassis only. Closest would be look at the M934 expando van body parts.
TN's are here under the M939 series.
The data plate has been changed. 2 extra rivets. Also the NGZ308? looks like an army registration number not a serial number.
Fellow Member Bikeman has a thread on checking history. Keep an eye here for when the 2018 thread opens...
That is actually one of the reasons I like the airlift, tire carrier, pintle hitch extension and the mwo reinforcement plate on mine. I "feel" better knowing I have some steel behind me and not just aluminum :-)
