Could be front crank seal or timing cover gasket. Mine were leaking. Did both same time in a parking lot with only 2 tools. Very quick and easy to change.
Sorry to hear, what a drag of a way to kick off a new vehicle purchase.
Great time to go with a turbo 855 like a Big Cam 400 engine. Can be bought low cost running. The heavy wreckers could use the extra power.
I've used the Pollak dual fuel selector valve before with good success. It switches the suction, return, and fuel level sender signal all at the same time, to do exactly what you want. They are under $60 new and work great, they are OEM on Ford, GM, etc... Only concern would be the port size...
Leave the cap loose and it can never get above 212F. You can also engage the fan temporarily by bolts in the front of it. Driving so can’t fully explain, look and figure it out.
Fan is mechanical and air actuated by a temp triggered air switch that is threaded into the top coolant return pipe. T-stat is 180F and fan switch about 200F.
Engine will not really reach fan temp while idling. Yes check again for water in the oil. If the fan is not coming on at all even...
Fully agree on the winch hydraulic valve travel amount. Going the extra 1/8" on valve handle travel will make all the difference in the world. They are not operated enough, and sloppy as my brother just said. Lube it, work it, adjust it. My winch pulled my 925a2 out of 4' of mud no problem...
We loaded the ones we have in those pics to over 3,000psi, and the belt and clutch were fine. It is a well made name brand unit. For the $400 or so for the clutch pump, I would try it. I already have a 925a2 all set up, but if I did not, I would try this route first. $500 or whatever for the...
Here is the page, up to 11GPM @ 1,000rpm. So just a bit under the 925 max rating of 25GPM @ 1800rpm, but you can spin this one even faster and out-flow it if you need to.

Thanks. I can’t say what I’m using them for because I’ve applied for a patent on it, but I can run the model numbers through Munice’s website and publish their specs. You can get 24v and V belt clutches as well.
Correct. Once you go 21Si clone, they are “single wire” alternators. Really only need the B+ cable to them, do the ground for insurance. Do not connect to the 2 small remaining terminals. Gravy, and should work no problem.
Your LN died because, that’s what those do. ;)
Good find on the slipping. Replace it. They are only $80 new with 1 year warranty. Rare to fail. Replace pulley also. Make sure to zip new pulley on with impact.
Sorry I may have double posted this. I did not because I have a 925a2. I did put this setup on two Cummins ISB gets engines at work though, and they work perfect.
I think mine are 6” OD, 1/2” center hole, 1/4” thick flat plate steel, found somebody on eBay to water jet them out for super cheap, like 25 cents per.
You don’t need the angle iron. I used 1 by wood pieces and a wood splitting wedge. Fell right apart.
I did not want to apply heat to the...
Check belt tension and battery health. If the battery recharge rate (amps) is more than the alternator is making (at idle), it will pull system voltage down. Batteries are only good for 5 years. Most people will run them until they don’t start the truck anymore, then see these types of...
Disagree, the fuel cut solenoids are not junk. Caveat is they won't stay retracted when people try to stretch their battery life beyond the label rating. In that case, the battery is the issue, not the fuel solenoid. Yes it is advantageous to temporarily remove them or zip tie them in the...
For any wanting to add hydraulics to their 8.3L vehicle, I wanted to illustrate another way. You can use a belt clutch hydraulic pump on the factory serpentine drive. Simply mount the pump in place of the A/C compressor of the kit. Pump has fittings on sides and rear, can use either or...
