What is going on with my air system?

I've never noticed my truck making this noise. Then again when I've had it out for a drive it's usually for its only drive for the day, so I immediately drain the air tanks after I park it. Next car show I take it to I'm going to have to remember to listen for this!

What is going on with my air system?

That's interesting... I wonder how much your truck's air gauge moves with each puff. Could it be a failing air pressure relief valve? I think there should be one at the air tanks.

Replacing Rear Wheel Bearings and all pertaining to

I've never done it either, but I'll have to pull the bearings this spring on the rear axles to replace leaking seals. I'm not quite prepared to do it yet because I still need to order the parts and gear oil to replace any lost when pulling the hub caps and shafts. I find that it helps a lot to...

New to me Deuce with matching trailer - wrenching post

I feel like those GovLiquidation guys were just making up names as they went about making the papers! Three different names for our trucks in the same thread :alien:

I wear an old baseball cap when working under the truck or tight spaces to add some protection to my head. You can do one better and get a bump cap:

When I registered my truck, I took it to a rural DMV (which is more likely to register old farm trucks without hassle) and didn't say anything about it being military or former military. The DMV clerk I was working with was a little puzzled about the heavy weight I registered it at for...

New to me M35A3, suggestions needed

An alternator/starter motor shop could probably service it for you if you don't want to dig into it yourself. I just found the TM for the starter motor repair. I attached the PDF. I found this referenced in TM9-2320-386-24-1-2 General Support on PDF page 713.

What a load of crap considering the Ohio Motorpool is a thing. I can't think of anyone else here in OH that knows the ins and outs :( You could reach out to the Ohio Motorpool to see if any of them can help you out.

    M34 Active duty

I just found a picture of an M34 in service with the Lebanese Army with an AA gun in the back: That picture was taken in the early stages of the Lebanese Civil War (~1975). There's a bunch of pictures of American trucks in Mid-East service here: https://milinme.wordpress.com/

    3" 8-Point Socket Suggestions

I was going to get the M35A3 rear axle seal kits from Big Mike's. I'm not sure if they're repros or surplus, but aside from the extra o-rings they look like M35A2 rear axle seals. I think I watched that same video. The job doesn't look terrible!

I don't think video uploads will work here since server space isn't infinite. Your best bet is to upload it to YouTube and link it here.

    M34 Active duty

I was looking at the pictures on my phone earlier. I agree now it looks like a Chieftain, especially with the looks of the armored skirts. Those are cool tanks!

    3" 8-Point Socket Suggestions

Does anyone have any recommendations for 3" 8-point sockets? I'm going to be checking wheel bearings this spring and want something good enough that's not going to round off the bearing lock nuts, especially when setting torque.

I learned that's especially true with the jack stands. I was happy when I found out that my 3-ton jack stands could support a rear axle since they sit lower to the ground than the front axle! The 6-ton stands had a lot of extra reach with plenty of detents to spare for the front axle, even...

3/4" drive socket set Some kind of torque multiplier - at least 3/4" drive Either a big torque wrench that can torque both left and right, or a small one to use with the torque multiplier A powerful 1/2" or 3/4" impact wrench Maybe something to move wheels around with, especially if you plan on...
