I agree with this mostly because I've read about how some VFDs were looking to buy a deuce with plans to totally overload it with water. 5-tons definitely make better water tankers since they are more - trucky? - than the deuce (I tell people the M35 is pretty much the baby of US military cargo...
I got a couple fixed steps with my truck, but never installed them. I just use a folding step ladder or stool to get up on the front bumper, and go from there.
Find the NSN for that hose in the parts TM and Google the number. A few parts websites will have specs on that hose so you can identify a suitable replacement.
I put 395s on my M35A3 last year and haven't noticed any weird vibration or other balance-related issues. I figured that they might not manifest if I only top out at 50 MPH. Are all sizes of XZL like that?
That makes me want to explore the French countryside. Last time I was there I only visited Paris via Eurostar, but there's so much more to the country than that! I stayed in the English countryside and never went to London or any of those big cities. Time to plan another trip across the pond...
I kept my truck at half-tank for the last year until I put it away for winter when I filled it all the way up for the very first time owning it. I was happy that I still didn't have any moisture issues. This time though I'm keeping it topped off especially with diesel at nearly $5/gallon here...
Well done! I did something similar to the air-assisted steering cylinder exhaust, using a clear PVC hose spliced between the exhaust wye and the rest of the original hose that was in good condition. I'll have to consider this for whenever I have to replace my coolant hoses.
Your truck seems...
Have you considered changing where you're buying your diesel fuel? I've never had moisture issues like that. My fuel-water separator barely drains anything at all. Even when I have the engine running and fuel sprays into a clear plastic jug when I open the valve, there's no water in the fuel...
All these sounds my truck doesn't make - I feel like I'm missing out :p
@Gypsyman recently noticed an air system sound that may be attributed to air equalization between the storage tanks after shutdown, making a periodic hiss per @rustystud .
As far as I noticed my truck makes all these...
With the stock motor, the M820's maximum towing capacity is 15000 lbs according to the TM. I can't remember if that's doubled for paved roads like cargo capacity was. The M818 tractor could take a maximum of 37500 lbs on the 5th wheel (again, not sure if that's doubled for paved roads).

I would've gotten the Continental MPT81s to replace my old 14.5R20 Michelin XLs. Unfortunately they were way outside of my budget, so I went with pre-loved 395/85R20 tires with 75% tread instead.
The 365/80R20 tires are a direct replacement of the 14.5R20 tires. Your CTIS will still work the...
I don't think you're losing much missing the turbo. They only added about 5 horsepower and not all of them have an obvious whistle. If anything I find a non-turbo truck desirable because you can shut it down faster from not having to worry about cooking the turbo, especially if you don't have...
Those tires look nice! I'd flip those rear hubs though, as much as I like how they look like that. I think bearing damage is a risk unless you aren't planning on loading heavy stuff in the bed.
Don't MLVWs have problems with the metals used to build them? I thought they were prone to premature corrosion and breakage, especially on the rear suspension. I wonder if that's why they're going straight to scrap.
Are the Canadians still selling their Leopard C2s? That could be a fun...
