Im sure you all know there is some guidelines when swapping rockers, and what to expect, but here is a interesting article on rocker ratios, valve spring compression and piston clearance, plus cam lift and duration...
my local AZ store had some bleeder screws in stock. Often bleeders are not vehicle specific, just like a few different grease zerk fittings fit a billion different apps...........except those damn IH TD 9 track rollers.
My experience is that when some place charges a asinine price for shipping and "handling", they often are not good with customer service either, after they got your money.
have the head magna fluxed. I'd be more concerned about the head, than the piston cracks. also I would drop the pan and make sure the piston oilers are all working (not clogged)
we used to hall around 2500 marines aboard our LPH in the 70's.. I trained many of them how to get drunk in port and get into fights with the SP............very quick learners. hahahahaha
I use a hand brake and subaru disc brake set up to hold my drill head and drill pipe while I add/remove a section, https://www.ebay.com/itm/185438158822?hash=item2b2cf9bfe6%3Ag%3A3W4AAOSwTPFii7vG&LH_ItemCondition=1000
I have never seen 900F at idle, even with my fuel cranked up. I would suggest getting a hand held pyrometer and doing some temp checks. At 900F idle, the exhaust gas coming out would be extremely noticeably hot. I would suspect your gauge/probe is acting up or uncalibrated/mismatched.
I use concrete a wall block @. 2200lbs each. they cost about 50$ for the plain ones and have a lifting eye cast in them so you can use a tractor or healthy tree/winch to remove them. http://bonnerconcrete.com/products_details.php?prod_id=100
It "may" also fit better with the transfer case attached to the transmission too. maybe a little firewall sheet metal work instead of the hood and nose panels too. Lots of tape measure work to do first.
