    MEP-803A mixed load test results

I had a blue S1 switch that would hang on the start position. I replaced it with an Electroswitch 75902LV: this is Rev 3 of the S1 and is a better quality switch. Your AM-VM switch indicates amps between specific terminals. I use a 240 volt stove for my load bank and it provide a balanced...

    MEP-803A mixed load test results

Drop the control panel down to get access to S1 and S6: I sprayed contact cleaner in the various holes in the body of the switches. The Blue switches have a lot of openings in the body and I sprayed a wee bit of contact cleaner in each and simply turned the switch 25 or so times. You are...

    MEP-803A mixed load test results

It's good to exercise S1, S6, S8. S1 and S6 are easy to get to with contact cleaner. S8 not so much. You are just trying to remove any corrosion that has accumulated during storage so you get good electrical contact through the switch. You have pictured S8 and S6.

    MEP-803A mixed load test results

I've been lucky with my 2 load meters and have been able to calibrate them using a clamp on meter. I do have one volt meter that does not calibrate accurately. As Diesel points out they are not very accurate to begin with. Sounds like you will need to replace what you've got....search SS for...

New guy with wiring question MEP-803A

Operating a stand-alone MEP generator without a driven ground rod is not safe. You can get voltage and amps from the main lugs with an ungrounded MEP-803A......Which is why you should ground the generator. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=716277&d=1516645419 0005-2...

Anyone have a Mep 802A fU1 FUSE or konow of an equivalent fuse (F03A125V30A) ?

Yep. F03A125V30A is the same as BUS ABC-30-R. Mouser has a WAY better price than the one I posted above : https://www.mouser.com/productdetail/bussmann-eaton/bk-abc-30-r?qs=St27ATL478s0HesTffljHg%3D%3D

    MEP- 803A All Weather Enclosure

I hear you. I used to live in the country on 100 acres.....parked anything I wanted anywhere. I retired and move to the city and now I have to stack my stuff in the drive....no more free wheeling. City rules and such. Next door neighbor accused me of turning the neighborhood into an FOB with...

New guy with wiring question MEP-803A

I've never seen a magnex-ug-transformer - I wired my generator through the house's breaker box. And I don't think I'd leave my generator 600 ft from my house.

2011 Mep 803 wiring for house

You need a single ground to neutral bond in the system, so yes. However, I've made a work around so I don't have to repeatedly connect / disconnect my machine's ground to neutral bonding strap. I use an electric stove as a load bank and my ground to neutral bond is in the stove. When I...

    Size of Generator Circuit breaker?

3,500 watts/.8 (military de-rating)=4,375 max watts/240 volts=18.2Amps. Looks like 20 amps to me, too. My house and generator are 240/120 volts. I am assuming this generator is de-rated like my MEP803A. You indicate a 220 volt reading. If so 4,375/220 = 19.9 amps. I forget how accurate the...
