My memory says that the gage just sits in the "off" position, with or without power turned on. I will check the gage ground first and then try some of the other suggestions here before going into a complete troubleshooting routine. Thank you to all of the guys who offered constructive help.
Gage was working fine on both tanks. Started the truck last week and the gage read empty on both tanks, even though they had plenty of fuel in them. I'm assuming the problem is in the gage selector switch or in the gage itself. Anyone have experience with this problem and where is the first...
This happened to me on both an M813 and an M818. Memphis no longer has the valve rebuild kits(as of 6 months ago). Sam Winers has complete NOS valves at a reasonable price-I think it was about $120 and they work great.
I've had an M813 and M818 and both of them did the same thing. When the oil level falls to just about the base of the fill neck(where it connects to the round pump body), it stops spitting oil. I just run it there and it seems to be ok.
Make sure you use DOT certified air brake fittings. They are different than hardware store fittings. Available at heavy duty truck supply houses like Fleetpride. Usually made by Bendix-Westinghouse. Keeps truck legal.
I just got an M915A1 with a Cummins 400. I want to add boost and pyro gages but don't know what ranges to get. Is the 400 in vacuum at idle and what is the maximum boost that a stock 400 will see. Also, what is the max temp the exhaust should see?
Did anyone notice that when the guy first showed up at the pawn shop there were gauges in the dash, but when D. Wong was looking it over, they had been removed? Must have fallen out on the drive over!!!
The story on the truck is this: A guy here in the San Francisco Bay Area bought a scout car. He decided to moderize it so he took a Dodge 4x4 pick-up and pulled the body off. He took the scout car body off and stuck it on the Dodge frame-hence the Cummins, auto trans, Dana 60 axles, tilt...
I'm going to recover an M915A1 next week and I want to check the rear diffs oil levels. Does anyone know where the plugs are located and what kind of wrench they need? Thanks.
LM339 is a quad voltage comparator. No programming needed. The voltage levels for comparisons are set by the hardware(resistor networks). Unsolder and solder new one in. Make sure you use low wattage(25 watt max) solder iron and minimal amount of heat to solder. Also make sure you use resin...
