1. Insulated cab roof (cheap stick on insulation. Lowered cab temp by at least 15 degrees)
2. Added VIC-4 intercom for music, maps, and so shouting to be heard is no longer required. Going to be upgrading it to a civi system as can't answer the phone with the military one and my state will...
So snagged the canvas today. The seller is AWESOME and thinking about getting into the LMTV/MTV breaking business. Hes got a 5 acre lot around his home covered in surplus stuff. Dunno if it breaks the rules about posting sellers names from fleabay so PM for his name.
He sells tents and other...
It LOOKS like it does.
Throwing up an ad on craigs to see if anyone needs anything hauled down there. Help pay for fuel
Speaking of which, anyone need anythign hauled from stl to springfield or back? :D
Hey all. Quick question, how long are the metal parts of the rear canvas when broken down as far as they can go?
Ive found one in missouri, but need to make a decesion to either drive the jeep or LMTV to get it. Hoping for both my fuel budget and sanity I can take the jeep...
check that your seats are bolted down before tilting! nearly lost my replacement windshield to the gunners seat (thank god i still have the army habbit of securing all seatbelts when leaving the truck)
So the towed load isn't the full load of the trailer plus weight, only tongue weight? I thought it was a combo of the trailer empty weight plus the load is the towed load.
Cool thing about my state is if your a vet and experience driving these things in the last 3 years, you can get a waver...
Have a question for you experts. If I had a 2 ish ton load in the bed of the M1078, could I still tow a 7.5k lbs bobcat behind the Behemoth?
Or would it be pushing the limits of the suspension? I know the trucks are way underrated with towing capacity, but would that kind of load prevent towing?
Thhhhaaaaaat is where i went wrong. I had both the transformer backwards AND the resistors soldered to the wrong parts. Whoops. This is why I break stuff for a living!
Works great now!
Back to the first question: what could be causing the mics to fade in and out?
So picked up a 500:8 ohm transformer and pair of 10k resistors. Soldered the 3.5 left and right channel wires to one 10k, the ground to the other 10k. Soldered both resistors to a leg each on the secondary side of the transformer. Soldered wires to primary side and attached to audio in on...
Yes, the Vic-4 was used in spotting vehicles. Can use 4 radios instead of 2 like the VIC-1.

I will correct my mistake then. Only have a transformer with no resistors. I thought I had missed something.
