Yes that makes a lot of sense, thanks for that explanation. I can definitely see your reasoning in the longer fuel tank you made. In your opinion do you think the L bracket method could be applied to the stock steel 58 gal tank in the stock location?
Hey Keith, just curious to hear your take on why you decided to go with this bracket style of mounting for the gas tank vs the conventional strap mounting for the diesel tank. Would you consider this method to be effective on the larger diesel tank as well (or even a smaller size 58 gal tank)...
Thank you but I think I’m going to go with the Donaldson P/N D100031 filter housings on mine but man are they expensive! You don’t happen to have any of those do you? What’s the diameter of the one @chucky has? My main goal is space saving for these so if they’re comparable and I can run only 1...
Most definitely. Probably should go ahead and do that since I’m about to start modifying intake and relocating components. Also going to extend frame 2ft. Wondering if I could just get this thread moved to keep everything in one place.
Oh that’s a good idea, I will have to look more into yours. I will be moving the air tanks aft to make room for the added fuel tank and the batteries into the compartment above the driver side fuel tank. I wont be doubling up the frame but mounting a “floating frame” for articulation.
I will be doing essentially that but remounting it to the original toolbox. My habitat will have two mirrored fuel tanks one on each side of the truck with space above for storage compartments. The area above the transmission will be a dinette and considering the seating for that makes space...
Ahh ok yeah those pins makes perfect sense now thank you.
Well using a chunk of rubber and my greenlee plug cutter I was able to make a puck that I think should work out.
Should this cab mount be this loose or is there a missing bushing between the two? I’m assuming the latter. I’m feeling like it’s contributing to a lot of the clunking in the cab while driving (i know some probably coming from airbags as well).
I’m only just moving them aft on the driver side frame rail to allow for a second OEM fuel tank to be added on that side. Batteries I haven’t quite decide yet.
There will be space above the drivers side fuel tank for a compartment made with a slide out drawer where I can store vehicle/habitat...
Got the aux tranny cooler deleted (for now?) and the toolbox removed. Tomorrow I will get the spare tire carrier and intake removed then on to fabbing up a storage compartment to move the airtanks and dryer aft to make room for second fuel tank.
Yes even my 01 A0.5 truck has a “CTIS OFF” light on the panel but there is no way from what I can tell with my config to make it illuminate outside of lamp test of course. I was also wondering about this light and seems like it’s only for the special arctic kit config mentioned.
