I think a challenge is that nobody makes you whole when there is identity theft unless you already had insurance. In the case of CC# fraud, the banks make you whole - which is why Target ended up having to pay a settlement to the banks, who were in turn reimbursing fraudulent charges. The banks...
You mention liability and that's a really interesting point. For my part I've never heard of someone successfully suing a vendor/etc for identity theft / fraud damages in connection with the vendor losing their identity. Seems tricky to prove. Not like I'm a lawyer or have gone looking for past...
This is why I very carefully did not recommend forecasting. Only reporting actuals. I'm sure you guys know, right now, exactly how many and which orders you have out in an EUC pending status. And if you sort those by date, that is the queue. Then if my order is #120 out of 370, tell me that on...
You give reasonable advice that is common sense and anyone could do no worse to follow. I think I am reacting more to the fear they are storing them long-term and they are sitting around for someone to find down the road. Sure, they probably are. And if not, all these other companies are too...
Every time I fill out a W4 or 1099 w/o an EIN, every time I do a credit check, stock brokers/banks, every property I have ever rented, when I deal with the FCC, DMV, my insurance companies, every cell phone deal I've ever had, amazon publishing, blah blah blah
At this point my SSN is so many places and on so many things I don't see how giving it to GP really makes anything worse. On the upside there have been so many data breaches I pretty much have free credit monitoring for life...
Having dealt with these kind of issues before in the commercial space, IMO, would help their cause if more status was communicated automatically to the people waiting on the EUCs... since the military is unlikely to solve the problem, it occurs to me that if the GP/IP system knows how many...
I got scared off them by the stories of them breaking - just google around - and ended up getting the older GP medium that the IBIS TEK replaced, the one that weighs a million lbs. Have had no problems with it.
I realize this thread is ancient, but, I also know that we all encourage people to search for answers...
On the VIC-3 MCS, the A pin is +24V and the B pin is GND but floated to the regulator. The shield is the chassis ground. You can verify this - the power shell to the chassis is 0 ohms but...
Thanks, this is really helpful. It's on my TODO list to sew up an insulation blanket for the top and back of the cab but I hadn't gotten around to it. I want to make a radiator cover too, since those are also kind of hard to find. Planning on some coooold weather next year.
Speaking of which...
Sorry to hear that. When you do get it sorted out if you enumerate for us what parts #s were actually required - you are going to be an absolute hero. Is there a SS medal of honor?
