Check out this thread - and what Kloppk says about the MOV. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?148791-MEP-802-and-803-Main-generator-tip/page2
and this TM: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?165569-Tier-2-Data-Sheet-TB-11-6115-741-24
Tinstar: Thanks, I searched SS and found some good info.
Colt: take a look at this Titan shock: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Titan/T1242600.html . It's an actual trailer dampener shock, extend/collapse dimensions look good, but the bolt connections are not cushioned and...
Need a monotube shock for this application (horizontal position). https://iscsuspension-na.com/monotube-vs-twin-tube-difference-better/
I can't tell if the Gabriel is monotube, but I think it is twin tube due to mentioning gas toward bottom of page...
You want a CO2 extinguisher for the generator. Check out this link: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?171026-Generator-Accessories . Daybreak and others educated me when I had an ABC unit installed on my trailer. ABC chemicals damage wiring and electrical connections. Yours...
Don't match my model number or NSN. Check your TM for part number then go to Parttarget and enter the NSN to see if they have some other part numbers to look for...
My notes say: Percent Rated Current Meter: Ideal 35.7001, 72-5007-1, 6625-01-038-6829. Phaostron 637-18050.
Confirm info in the TM. Stay away from the 400Hz units....the only ones a quick scan of Ebay showed as being available this morning.
I grabbed one of these from a local supplier - search Ebay for 'Military Surplus 50 Gallon MRAP Fuel Tank' : my seller took a lower offer than what you see posted. I remember a GovLiq auction where these were going in lots of 10 or 15 and they moved for around $50...
I suspect the metal 'hat' reservoir cover provides a small sealed volume of compressible air to allow for movement of the incompressible brake fluid in the system. The compressible air in the 'hat' can compress and expand (small psi differences) without allowing outside air into the system...
Looks good. You might want to check out everyone's mouse proofing efforts: they can really mess up a generator. Good starting point is here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?176856-Mep802-small-fire-repair-help-!!!
Surge Shock from TM 9-2330-202-14&P:

So part number is 1844-2, NSN 2510010507136 and they ain't cheap: https://www.crofttrailer.com/1844-2-hydro-act-actuator-damper-shock/
I'm unaware of any...
A 240 volt electric stove provides a good load for testing a generator. You can sometimes find them cheap on Craigs List. You want the older coil type so you can cheaply repair an eye if it is burned out. However, they do take up some real estate. Mine is outside with a tarp over it when not...
Take a look at this document: Tier 2 Reset information. This is when the Army thinks it's time to reinspect/refurbish/rebuild a generator. Hour meters can lie about the particular unit they are attached to....if reused. Anyway, 9000 hours is kind of steep IF the hour meter is correct for...
GovPlanet does a pretty good job of keeping a year's worth of past auction prices on their website. Check past sales out and you'll get a good feel for what an 803 is worth today.
Depends on the service you are backing up or providing. I have a 30 amp camper: 120 volt.....1 leg. No 240 volt service required or existing. I plan to run my generator in single phase 120 volt mode. If you check the S8 on your MEP803 or MEP802 (see pic) you will see that you can run in...
The MEP802A is good for 26 amps, single phase 240 volts (see attached plate). 26amp x 240 volt = 6240 watts....6.24Kw. This is maximum rated power output with a resistive load...like an electric stove. Now hit that with the 20% de-rating to cover intermittent motors starting up (AC...

Some part number here...
I add a 7 conductor RV cable to match my truck....something like this: https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Mighty-Cord/A10-7W6.html and change the tail light bulbs to 12 volt. I used regular bulbs but LEDs are available.
Search SS for 'wheels for m116a3' to get used wheel size needed and expected...
I did a fast scan through the manuals and could not find the exhaust pipe thread size....and I don't own an 804A to measure it.
Here are your manuals / TMs: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?148936-All-the-TM-s-you-need-to-work-on-the-MEP-804A
