Sounds like you have several generators. May want to bring at least 1 trailer home so you can use it to move your generators around. I like the mobility provided by a trailer but it makes the generator easier for someone to steal. As joe points out: depends on your unique situation.....and...
Have you noticed any siphoning of the fuel when operating on your truck tank? I'm wondering if the higher elevation of the truck tank will cause a fuel spill in the generator when it is not running, especially after a long run on Aux. fuel. My Aux. tanks are all on the ground, but I've been...
Before dropping a lot of $$ for military wheels and tires check out this thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?181242-M116A3-with-2000-GMC-1-Ton-Van-Wheels
I did the same thing as tobyS: used wheels with 8 lugs on 6.5 inches. Once I got new tires mounted they went onto an...
I once had a generator similar to this generac 5500 (https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200370713_200370713) inside a 12x20 building. Each side wall had a window and I opened them up when running.....and held my breath if I had to enter the building for generator maintenance...
I looked at my machine and wires are kind of tight in there. I could not see what the wire numbers were coming off the terminals but both 11 and 12 had 2 wires in and 2 wires out. Image of TB5 is from ARMY TM9-6115-642-24. I could not find P4.
I agree with NDT: options 2 & 3.
2) With Analog Gauges and LED Lights and Push Buttons (medium cost solution)
3) No Communication at all (most cost effective)
Here's a picture of my 803 connections for single phase 240 volt. I used 4 C / 6 AWG SOOW. This generator is set up for home backup so the Ground to Neutral bond is open: I'm using my house's Ground to Neutral bond. You only want one Ground to Neutral bond.
Your generator's Ground to...
I bought from this outfit: https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/GJC20 and received Wavian cans. They are now supplying VALPRO cans. Latvian producer: http://www.valpro.lv/en/products/metal-cans/ Appears to be same quality but I don't own any VALPRO cans.
You could just shop around for older wheels: I used 2000 GMC van wheels..... https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?181242-M116A3-with-2000-GMC-1-Ton-Van-Wheels
My 'new' wheels and tires eventually made it to my M1101.
I bought one of these for trailer recoveries: https://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/mitradcamtro.html but always take a spare set of magnetic lights and nylon tywraps in case the trailer's electrical wiring is messed up.
Search the site and you can find directions on building your own adapter...
Looks like a lot of rust and possibly difficult to find parts. I would look on GovPlanet for upcoming auctions of M1101 and M1102 trailers. They are a little bigger than the M416, though, so may not meet your needs.
From a project perspective this trailer should give you sheet metal, paint...
