As a comparison, I found a new License Plate Light at O’Reily’s and it has only One Wire. This makes me think that that broken wire is likely for the light?
Now if I can just find where to reconnect the loose end of the wire!!

I looked through the wires that are inside black tubing, but didn’t find a broken wire. I looked down until where the wiring splits.
So I unraveled that wire and it turns out to be just One Wire. It’s just a broken wire that was wound up. It goes into the tailgate into a silver square piece. I...
This is for an M1009, not sure if that matters. I did see all of the wiring for the brakes, etc under the rear bumper. Pic below. The previous owner even spilled some Bondo on part of the wires. What the??
I’ll take a look around inside the tubing where all the wires are and see if I can find...
I forgot to post some pics. Here’s a Light for the Rear Plate. The last one is with the lens cover off that I had to clean up.

Hello!
I found these two disconnected wires (circled in Red) coming out of the tailgate. I’m assuming they are for the License Plate Light.
Any idea where they go? I’d like to reconnect them, just don’t know where?
Thank you for any help!

I’m regards to that fuse that blew, I traced the 2 wires that run from the Top of the Fuel Filter. I’m assuming those are for the Water in Fuel Sensor. Look at what I found. The White Wire has a section missing Insulation and there is Bare Wire! It was wrapped in Electrical Tape.
I’m no...
I Found 39G (Pink/Black Wire), but I have a stupid question. One end of that wire goes to the Fuse Box. What does the other end go to, what are those 2 small square boxes I circled in Red?

Hey Squibbly! That all sounds great. Thank you for the TM and Diagram reference. I’ll check this all out.
Your buddy Johnny suggested I do the same. While I’m at it I’m going to trace the wires for the LC lights that stopped working months back.
I’ll report back!

The Courtesy Lamp hasn’t worked, so I put a new bulb in. I turned it on and it worked for a second then turned off and wouldn’t work.
The next day or so I did a few more tests for the Glow Plug Card Holder. The Seatbelt buzzer wasn’t working and neither were some of the dash lights. Sure enough...
Squibbly!! Great video man! Thank you Thank You for doing that and sharing.
I know what you mean about not having enough hands. I think that every time I’m working on my CUCV. If only I had someone to hold this while I do that, etc.
Johnny had me test the wires today. I video recorded my...
I think it has something to do with when you put bigger tires on and the rotation. The speed won’t be accurate, hence the adapter. Then again I could be Wrong! Maybe someone else can verify/chime in on this? Good question though!

Hi Rick!! Yes I’m still having issues. The New Speedo Cable will work when placed into the Transfer case. It still won’t work when placed into the adapter. I’m thinking the Old Cable, that was too long, may have damaged the adapters. That’s just a thought, but I wondered if I could open one up...
Wow! You know your stuff man!!
I double checked all of the Fuses today, none were blown.
The Wait Light does turn On.
The 4 Wheel Drive and Oil Lights don’t work, they haven’t since I purchased the vehicle a year ago. They don’t work because the blue colored circuit board in that area is...
Oooh yeah!! I’ve been messaging him for advice. Thanks for the video though, it’s very good!
*UPDATE* Today I cleaned a handful of plugs, connections, and fixed the frayed end of the thin ground wire. I have to now think the Card is Bad? The other day I got it to Click when I stuffed a wire and...
Cleaning that ground piece with the 6 prongs/connectors is a great idea guys. I’ve only had this vehicle just over a year. During all of this I’ve discovered how absolutely filthy it is underneath the dash.
After that I’ll work on getting the end of that ground wire repaired. The one with a...
Thanks for the replay sir! I know exactly what part your talking about. I’ve seen it before. I will check that out to make sure nothing it loose. Maybe that’s all it is! Good looking out!
