    Deuce muffler option

I just ordered the twister muffler based on your comments and pictures. Can I assume that the muffler slips right over the exhaust pipe after it's cut and the exhaust stack slips on the same? What did you paint it with?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I replaced the coolant and all of the coolant hoses on my Deuce. The lower radiator hose at the water pump is almost impossible to get at. I found that by removing the radiator it was easy to get the lower hose on. I secured the upper and lower hoses to the engine and then put the radiator back...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I changed my non-working Tstat and all hoses except for the lower. Big mistake. It leaks now that my engine gets warm. Gonna have to replace that. Got into at least four separate conversations while working on it. Turned some heads when my son and I pulled into Chick Filet with it. Caught up to...

    Installing instruments!!!

You're more than wecome. I haven't run into that problem yet. I guess I would try hooking up the gauges one by one before they were mounted with the master switch on and the engine running. When I got a reasonable value for a given temperature or pressure range I would consider a gauge to be...

    Installing instruments!!!

Wire numbers: 36 oil pressure, 28 fuel level gauge, 49 panel lights, 38 water temperature, 17 hi-beam indicator, The voltmeter gauge gets one of the #27 wires from the spider. You will notice on the backs of the gauges having two plugs that one is smooth sided (they get the #27 wire from the...

    Installing instruments!!!

I do. I've done completely new guages myself. I have pics at home. I'll post them for you when I get there.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

I have definitely had days like that myself. Sometimes I find it's better to back off. The next day everything usually falls into place. It was that way with my new hand throttle cable the other day. Next up.....install new metal air wiper motors and civvy blades. And oh yeah, watch baseball and...

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

That sounds doable. My flasher connector was full of water shorting it out.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

Well, the flasher is a three wire unit with a small plug. You shold be able to identify the Packard connectors by their metal tag numbers comparing them to the Deuce wiring schematic created by one of our fellow members. I have it and can email it to you if you need it. It's pretty easy to find...

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

Hi Heath. My turn signal adapter/harness came with a connector on each end. One end screws on to the three lever switch and the other end right to the harness. That allows my front markers to be on in service drive. I still have to be in service drive for the turn signals to work. What is your...

LArgest/Best size tires for non bobbed deuce?

I like the look of duals myself. I used 6 Firestone T831 11R20 tires on stock rims. They are 43" tall, have gnarly treads and drive well on the road. Haven't tried them off road yet, but. That's what they're made for.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

Heath, Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed reply! I can't tell you how many times I've written a post only to have my login timeout and have to re-type it. I'm going to try your suggestions on my wiper motors. The backside of my dash is coated with sand. The driver's side seems...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I'd like to know more about your red tops. How did they fit? Cost? I've made one or two beer runs in my Deuce too. Once the beer starts ...I'm parked. Safety and green machine rep first.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

I've been working on my truck all winter long wearing insulated coveralls. If it's 25 degrees or over, not raining or snowing, and I'm off from work....I'm out there. I live on the third floor of an apartment building and I have no access to electricity, so I understand your difficulties. I just...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Heath we all have days like that. My truck has some of that coated cotton weave stuff to protect the wiring. It was falling apart too. When I cut it off I found that all of the wires underneath were neatly taped (original) and in fine shape. I guess you're meaning the wire insulation itself...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

She looks happy!!! Must've been a great experience. I drove my Deuce to work the other evening. It was flurrying on the way home at midnight and my new wiper arms and blades were a complete fail. On the plus side, my air was at 65 psig after seven hours of sit time so the low air buzzer never...

    71 M35 Transmission help

Great information in this post. I have a question regarding shift quality. My transmission feels like it "snicks" into gear on upshifts. It doesn't grind. I guess I'm feeling the dogs engaging. Am I moving the gear lever to slowly through neutral in to the next higher gear? Is the "snick"...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ellen is as beautiful as they come. Puts most women 30 years younger to shame. I've never heard her complain about anything and I've known her for twenty years. Too bad for me that she is married to Andy who is an amazingly good guy. We should both be so lucky.
