I'm not sure you can use the gauge as an accurate assessment of the tank level. When a tank is completely full, at least on my gauge, the marker gauge measures well past the last full point mark on the gauge.

You're doing a great job on everything you have done so far. Sometimes the unexpected happens. Push forward, put it behind you and move on.

    Fluids, Flushes and Additives

I use Valvoline Transmission fluid and Mobil Delvac 1300 15W-40 engine oil. Reasonably priced and change it frequently. M1008. Diesels will turn any motor oil dark rather quickly from my experience.

    Injector Pump advice

They might be standard motors parts, which are generally good replacement parts. I would take a chance with one if that is all that is available.

Mechanic wanted, then found: Diesel Heaven in MI

Go back to the shop that botched the job and get your money back now that you have proof that they ripped you off.

It says it is an original G.M. part. I haven't seen any aftermarket parts for that one. If you need it, buy it. They are hard to find. Crazy money. I don't think the fast idle solenoid is the source of your fuel leak problem.

So if you don't mind, how did they fix your problem with the truck not working properly.

    M1028 whats it worth?

He may or may not sell it. I just don't think his intentions were trying to get someone on this site to buy it at this time.

    M1028 whats it worth?

I'm not sure he is trying to sell it. Just curious how much it's worth.

    M1028 whats it worth?

Without a running motor and a transmission, the value would be minimal compared to what you could get if you spend the money to get the vehicle road-ready. In today's market, you could get $15.000 on up for a clean mechanically sound truck.

    M1009 Starting issue

You're losing your fuel prime as you stated. Get a flashlight and look closely at all your return fuel line hoses. If you find any wet return fuel lines, replace them. Check all your fuel lines and replace any that are old, rotted, or leaking. Check in the valley under your manifold for any wet...

$9000.00 maybe $ 10,000.00. In today's market, you could get quite a bit more?

Anyone Know the Length: Negative Battery Cable for Front Battery??

Buy a Temco Hammer Battery Crimping Tool on Amazon For $20 bucks. It crimps from 8 AWG up to 4/0 AWG. Buy the 3/8'' copper lug rings and the right size lugs for the size wire your using, it is a very basic job that you will enjoy doing.

Anyone Know the Length: Negative Battery Cable for Front Battery??

I would take it back and start from scratch.

Anyone Know the Length: Negative Battery Cable for Front Battery??

I would personally recommend the military-style battery connectors. So when you have to remove your battery connections, you don't have to take it off the battery post every time. Much better.
