    alternator help please

Have you pulled the plastic electrical plug connector out from the alternators and cleaned the black goo out that is sometimes found in the original connections? Better yet, just replace the pigtail connector if it looks gummed up.

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

You do good work. It's nice to see a man being a father to his son.

    Vacuum Pump Head

Several members have used that pump head successfully. I would think that the drive shafts would all be the same. Squibbly, a member on this site, recently installed one. Try giving him a PM and see if he will help you out. Amazon has a Cardone 64-1200 remanufactured vacuum pump complete unit...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

I think most modulators only adjust 2-3 MPH. Most of the adjustment will be done by your vacuum regulator.

Driver side marker light not working

Very interesting and informative post. I'm sure it will help someone in the future. Good work and effort figuring it all out.

Driver side marker light not working

Honestly, I have never had an occasion to dig that deep into the electrical diagrams. Those side markers I thought, have separate ground connections on the frame close to the actual markers. Sometimes the ground connections upstream or downstream on the lighting circuits can affect other areas...

Driver side marker light not working

Check the bulb sockets, put in new bulbs, check and clean all grounds going to the frame, and check for loose connections.

    M1009 Harmonic balancer

The one that is on there lasted 35 years. Buy a G.M. harmonic balancer, and put the one back on there that the truck was engineered for. I'm sure you can find 400.00 extra dollars to spend on something else for your vehicle. Don't buy into the hype of needing a racing balancer. Don't use Dorman...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

It starts from the top down. If the owner or supervisor doesn't care the help may not care either. All companies are a reflection from the owner down to the employees. Keep up the good work. Glad these trailers are working out for you.

Nice job! I see a possible business venture in flipping and repurposing these heavy duty trailers. Great trailers at a great price.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

If it is in the rear brakes, it might be the adjuster for the drum brakes needs adjusting. there is an inspection port on the inside of the rear wheel that you can remove the plastic inspection port and adjust the automatic adjustment lever. I would suggest if this is your problem, you remove...

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

The front leaf springs have a reverse arc from the factory. They naturally have a sagging appearance.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

Can you distinguish if the actual brakes are pulling from the rear or the front or both? Or does it feel more like a suspension problem? Have you had the brakes exposed to inspect any problems? Are the rear brakes stopping evenly when you hit the brakes real hard, or is one side locking up? Are...

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

Nice job on those rockers. I can't tell where the repair is.

    What maintenance to do first?

The symptoms you describe sound like a classic loss of fuel prime. You need to check all of the fuel hoses to make sure they are not cracked, brittle and leaking. Look at the fuel injection pump to see if any fuel is leaking at the pump and in and around the valley. I don't know what type of...

That is the neatest and the tallest stack of wood ever stacked on the tailgate of a pickup. I score that a 10!!!

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

The rock crusher is cool. Do you use it for personal only, or for a business too? The final size material looks perfect for driving over on a muddy road. That new cordless chipping hammer will come in handy for lots of uses. I take it you've gathered up plenty of material to crush. Delivered...
