    fuel leaking from fdc

You may have a loose fuel line connection in that area and an air leak, making it hard to start. The FDC housing to IP gasket keeps oil where it is suppose to be, no fuel here...no pressure.

    Throttle linkage sticking

You have to be from Ohio to understand. I agree that it most likely outside the IP.

That is okay as a temporary solution, have thought about, without the HIAB (see avatar), I'd need a good jack.

To illustrate the tire situation (this Goodyear tire is badly worn).

It uses a ferrule and nut.

Thanks Kenny for those heartwarming words. I'll be taking a serious look at my tire situation this Summer so we'll see. The difference in diameter between the biggest and the smallest is about 3 inches, pretty bad for the "same size" tires. They are all military 16-20 (405/70-20 commercial). If...

4a032 What kind of crankcase oil?

I used "aviation" type oil in my 4a084, going by the fact that it's an aircooled engine and often used i aircrafts (ultralights). Probably doesn't matter much, but it made me feel good. :-)

    XM757 contributors

Over the years a number of individuals have contributed one way or another to my xm757 8x8 resto project, here is the list, if you think you have been left out, let me know and I'll revise the listing. Dealers/ebay have been left out. (This shows how invaluable the steelsoldiers site is to this...

    Before and after images

It's a hobby and I'm retired, perhaps a dangerous combination. It's also a very low budget project, so it all takes a lot of time. Zak, it's not that bad, don't use earplugs, like I needed for the deuce...or the damage may have been done already...

More... Note: The overhead NiCd box temperature indicator with 24 to 12 volt converter and clock should be dated Aug 11 2011.

Brandon, your M52A2 is sitting where you left it, no word from Joe. Here are a few of the hundreds of images of the xm757 restoration process. There are several gear ranges to chose from when driving. They all have an upper gear limit, such as 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. That's where the danger of...

All variants of this 8x8, 500, of those about 150 xm757. All delivered during 1969.

Pretty much every time it's driven. The automatic transmission shifts at 2,800 to 2,850 rpm. It's not difficult to rev it up there, the no load max rpm is 3,000, so I simply need a reminder. Kenny, the tires are still a limiting factor, they are all slightly different in diameter and there is...

Just for kicks, here are before and after shots of the driver's area of my xm757...work still in progress.

    Low Oil Pressure

Low oil pressure in my multi turned out to be a clogged pick-up screen. Ran on veggie oil and biodiesel for years and some found its way into the crankcase and created problems. Don't load the engine with low oil pressure!

    Automatic transmission temperature

I understand, just wasn't sure about the range.

Thanks for that bit of info. Sure there is not a misprint in the TM?
