Not bad. They came for us a bit when we first got to camp and cleared out when we got a fire going. In my experience the mosquito are pretty localized out here. They are bad when they are bad, but if you move over there, they aren't. I've seen patches around swampy alpine lakes where it seems...
Our comtacs all have PTT boxes to U-229, so they just hook right up. I make U-229 and Ampheno/etc milspec cables anyways. In the process of making the highway cables. Thanks though!
I do like the comtac 3s but some people tell me that is just because I have not tried the 4s yet, with the...
I personally use a peltor comtac iii. Some of my more mission-capable friends have their own, and I've got a Bose laying around that girls look cute in. I'll probably pick up a couple of the older (cheaper) peltors for guests since they double as shooting muffs.
I may eventually run a box into...
Installed a Harris 30-500mhz antenna, the mount, and the intercom boxes for my VIC-3 in the LMTV. I went back and forth on the location of the intercom boxes; I thought about putting them up on the dash, but I felt that space was kind of precious and I thought the cables might get annoying. I...
Traveled across the southern part of the Olympic mountains this weekend, did some camping and shooting. Would have been reeeeaaal nice if I had gotten my VIC-3 cables made by this trip, we had to keep shouting at one another. Should get them sorted out this week or next though. Come to think of...
All the M1078s are "flatbeds" - the sides and tail gates come off. They stow under the bed compartments.
According to the manuals, a LMTV at gross will flat-tow another LMTV at gross, which is just short of 13 ton. I've never towed anything that heavy with mine, so I couldn't comment on how...
Do they really use the immersion heaters for potable water? I thought they used them to heat the barrels for cleaning dishes, and for showering and whatnot.
I wonder what they do with the buffalos in arctic conditions. Why don't they turn to solid blocks of ice? Or are they just not used in...
So on my 1078A0 the relay is normally closed to 87A which means that the CTIS lights get 12V normally just when the truck is on. The headlight position does not matter for that. However when you select blackout lighting it energizes the relay and closes it to 87, which drops pin S, which turns...
Yeah. Out here it's just by weight, they don't care what you are using it for. I would get a CDL, I mean that part doesn't bother me, but, they have an hours requirement for schooling that is in the triple digit and you have to go to a state-approved school, so, it takes weeks and costs...
It just seems weird, I've seen it a few times, how some items are just way more than market. Is it two guys bidding in the heat of the moment or something?
Must be nice to be in a situation to have a 1082. I'd like a one a lot, but it's a CDL item if you are out of WA, and our CDL program here...
While we're talking about water buffalos, http://www.thedonovan.com/archives/004697.html never gets old.
Wish I had one... Been keeping my eye out but no dice so far. Funny thing, I could actually use one.
Ha so the TMs are "wrong", and the breaker schematic. Or so it seems. They label the relay K52 as "CTIS Overspeed Indication Relay".
Pin S on the CTIS ECU makes its way to the K52 relay. If that relay is closed to 87A which is connected to CB40 - the CTIS breaker - it is hot to 24V. This is...
So I got my cab down - another story - and checked pin S. Sure enough, no voltage, regardless of the light switch position. It's not grounded either, it's just nothing. I took the cable apart and it is wired. It vanishes off into the dash to who knows where. I haven't tried jumping 24V into it...

Did they find some of saddam husseins gold stuffed under the seat???
If the airbag breaks you are not stranded. Just turn the bags off with the valve on the manifold and pin the cab. You should have pins hanging there, if not, should be cheap to replace.
