Deep cold snow, and lack of "Free $**t" keeps a majority of the rats in the big cities. Spoken from someone who retired from Stockton and Oakland CA. I actually have a smaller plow on my old F350. This one is for the "10 year" Apocalypse snow drifts on my road.
tested the hydraulics while I wait for more bolts and a little more steel. I works good but its slow. I may change the pump out for a higher gpm and 24vdc someday if I run out of things to do.
the arms are 1x3 bar stock and are heavy. Thats why they are temporary wired like that, so it doesn't bonk me in the head while Im doing the 45 mounts to the frame by the spring perch.
Im worked on the "Apocalypse" snow plow mount today. its a fixed V and I want it to move straight up and down, like a grader has, instead of up and tilting like the store bought ones.
I would try to find out WHY it just started burning out and slobbering it out. Thats Usually a process that doesn't "just happen". A regular cheap compression test would lead you in the right direction, and possibly eliminate the need for a rebuild. Guessing is expensive way to diagnose.
I have to wait until mine detonates before I replace it.
I see you're 130 miles away approx. Thats pretty close for another member. My plan was to pull the engine/transmission, then hang the dt466 engine transmission in place and build the mounts. Fabrication is the easy part. its usually the...
IF I were to do a swap, I'd likely go with a DT466 and a 5 or s speed transmission.....whatever one was already mated to the engine. Moving stuff around to make it fit isn't too much of a task for me. I would also use the power steering pump and hydro boost brakes from the donor. Almost all my...
someone could have relocated the 10/14 wire over to the + 24vdc battery post, and its now not connected, or it broke off from corrosion or over aggressive wire brushing.
The Eaton TrueTrac would be great for our trucks, but I haven't seen any produced for anything bigger than a Humvee. I suppose if you have a Detroit or Ouverson Locker in your truck, you could add the Overson Hubs (one or two?) and unlock the the axel until you need it. I'd have to call them to...
when Im under the truck, I pull the relief valve "ring" occasionally to make sure the seat isn't stuck. As far as a compressor check valve, My AD9 air drier I installed has one built into it. I have no clue why the A3 has two relief valves.
