24v electric fan is gunna be expensive, and the 25amp Deuce alt probably wont keep up with demand and will likely need to be re-cored. Surely a 400 Cummins fan clutch wouldn't be a high dollar item considering how widely used the engine is.
The LDT multifuel in my Deuce has a full time fan. I recently discovered the 900 series trucks have a heat clutch on their fans. I would like to stop my fan from turning when it isn't needed for a quicker warm up and maybe pickup some extra mileage per ton of fuel it uses.
Pretty sure the 900...
Today my Deuce went green. I guess its trendy now or something.
I used Krylon Camo Colors (12 cans of it so far, OD) and it went on fairly easily. Looks more like the WW2 OD than 383 but it suits the truck fine. Hopefully it holds up. I ran out of paint and my finger is tired so I still have to...
What is the collective opinion on using Krylon "camo colors" spraypaints? I'm only interested in green and black on my truck, and I'm not sanding it to bare metal. If the green is a little shiney or not quite 383 carc color that doesn't bother me, I've used it before (non-automotive) I'm just...
I have 395s on my truck and it has never touched my J pipe. There are a few inches of mud caked on it, so I'd say it stays a reasonable distance from it. The only rub is the steering arm on the drivers side under a hard left turn.
it leaks when something his hooked up to it and the valve is open. I fabbed an air hose to use air tools with while away from the shop and it saps a lot of PSI from the tool with it leaking.
thanks for the information, easy fixes are nice.
I need to replace my emergency (pass side) gladhand as the boot is ripped and leaking air slowly. Its old crusty metal and I have a feeling it may not survive being removed. Is the inlet diameter and threading the same as a civ tractor-trailer gladhand or do I need to source another M35 specific...
It seems like if you are a proficient welder you could cut the lunette ring off and weld your choice of 2" coupler in its place. The actuator works similar to surge brakes doesn't it?
I tagged my Deuce in the state of Alabama about 3 weeks ago in under 15 minutes. I originally thought my truck was a 1971 and the bill of sale reflected that, so I don't have a title (state does not require a title or sf97 paperwork on stuff <1976). They asked what year it was, who made it and...
I don't have any covers, gaskets, or rear firing lights on the panel.
When its warm enough to paint I'll try the top cover method.
My panel looks like this-
