I don't know there's that stupid trend right now with people lifting the front only on those 4x4 tahoes. I think it's called a dog with the trots or something.
So my kit from Energy Suspension was missing one of the 2-1/2 inch washers. I contacted ES and they would not send me a replacement because I ordered it from Amazon. Amazon issued me a $20 dollar refund to buy the piece since ES wouldn't honor there product. I couldn't find the correct size so I...
1985 Rubber Trans mount versus new Polyurethane trans mount. Seeing this is what made me pull the trigger on redoing all the body mounts.
Got the Energy Suspension body mount kit in today as well.
Got the flex plate dust cover in from @cucvrus .
Pleasure doing business with you Rick, good looking unit. Just have to get some more self etching primer and I'll make it match the trans. So glad I didn't cheap out on one of the aftermarket stamped sheet metal ones.
I've got about 100 photos from tearing down my NP208 mainly because I couldn't find a how to on rebuilding one that went in depth on small things. I am planning on doing a separate thread post with those photos soon on how to rebuild a NP208. This will mainly be for the folks like me who don't...
Hopefully that tool works. I honestly thought they were the same size shafts. If that doesn't work you may be able to pick the old one out and use an appropriately sized piece of pipe and ample lube to push a new one in. Otherwise if you have to split the case you mind as well rebuild it at that...
CUCVRUS answered your question. With that tool you can remove the bolt that holds the linkage to the shaft and get the seal out and back. Otherwise you would have to pull the entire thing apart. that large flat piece on the right is the shifter on the inside and to get it out the T-case has to...
Got the fuel tank skid plate wire brushed with a coat of primer today. I probably won't get much done this week between rain and being on call for work. There's not going to be much spare time.
I appreciate it. I'm currently 34 and my nephew has loved this truck since I got it when he was 13 I'm hoping to be able to leave it to him one day many years from now.
While painting between the frame rails in the rear I noticed someone had pulled the loom off the wireing to the rear and a couple of wires had some small bare spots. I taped up the bare wires and put new loom on them.
I pulled the fuel tank to clean it out and so I could degrease and paint the rear. So after I cleaned it out you guessed it wire brush and paint. I am currently waiting on a new sending unit, straps, and an anti squeak kit to come in from LMC.
While I have the rear wheels off I figured some rust removal and a paint job was in order for them as well. This is the first one completed. I will be doing the fronts when I start on the front end as well.
I decided everything that got pulled off was either getting replaced if needed or at the very least a wire brushing and a coat of primer and paint. refreshed cross member with new grade 8 hardware which everything I replace will either have grade 8 bolts or ARP bolts.
