What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Was looking for a shop in or near Milwaukee to work on M1008; then did it all myself!

Your curb weight is 600 pounds more than my M1009. I run my 33x12.50s at 32psi and never had any excessive where. I would think 40 psi with your heavier curb weight should be a nice decent ride and not wear your tires as long as your not hauling much added weight.

The standard is 45 front 65 rear but that's also on the military tires. I imagine it has different tires on it now so those tires may max lower than 65. What's the max psi on the tires your running?

I'll get one back on at some point. He's down for a few months right now and I'm slowly working on repairs when I have time and money. I've priced some already just don't have the money to order one currently.

The previous owner of my 09 torched the flipping sway bar off of it. I didn't even realize it till about 10,000 miles after I had it. I still have not replaced it not really sure how much of a difference it would make for me. That thing is starting to look pretty cherry.

Don't know if it's the case with your 08 but on my 09 I have to put the power steering belt off the back side of the crank pulley first then get it around the other to pulleys and then back on the crank pulley from the back side. Not sure why it works that way but it does.

    Wilson Starters for CUCV?

Also be sure to get new GM starter bolts each time you change the starter out https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0013FDEEU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_PJSJKHTRGDDNN2SCWX72 Make sure your starter bracket is in place as well. It may save you from some broken starter bolts down the road.

    Wilson Starters for CUCV?

No my chinese starter is still working for now. I was just trying to see if these would work. It looks by all accounts to be the same as the OEM starter that comes on the CUCV. If yours is still the original I would have that rebuilt if I were you. If it can't be down for a few days then slap a...

    M1009 LED Problems

I ran LED s all the way around mine and only had to change the flasher module in the fuse panel. I remember having to put it in with jumper wires though because the pin out on the flasher module would fit fine but the pins needed a different configuration to run LEDs.
