Reviving the 83 ford with LDS 5 ton drive line

Most people talk about putting a 7.3 engine in a deuce to replace the LDT, not the other way around. That has got to be one beefed up front end to handle that weight, but I bet it had enough torque to pull those trailers easily.

    Hattiesburg, Ms Veterans day parade

I won't be back home until the 14th. I miss all the fun. :-(

Can't commit yet since I don't know where I'll be.

What is the value of an M109 Shop Van Body

What you paid for the truck w/box was not far off the latest GL prices. They've gone over $4000 at auction several times lately because there are so few left. I don't believe you were taken advantage of, so don't beat yourself up. The box by itself is not all that valuable, but it can add...

Trucks needed for Livingston LA Parade

Unfortunately, I'll be working in NJ or flying home that weekend, so I'll miss it. Drat! :-(

ILAV- they don't build them like they use to

Well it stopped before the red cone!:-P I wonder if a GL forklift was used to unload it from a trailer? That crankshaft sure was whipping around under there.

I'm a definite maybe, unless something comes up to prevent me coming. What time were you thinking about meeting at the south gate truck stop?

LA - Will pay $$$ to get M35A2 bobber axles rebuilt (bearings, boots, etc)

If you could wait until next May, I'll be retired and have the time. The expertise, well, not so much.

    New member in Louisiana

Welcome to the site and the addiction. You could buy a M105A2 trailer from Ft Polk for <200 and have 2 spares since the rims and tires are the same. The ones recently sold have had nearly new tires. If you need other parts, come to Tim's LA Rally next year in Ponchatoula. Come even if you...

    Trailer toter for my tractor

No, there are still 2 at your place. I was hoping to pick them up this weekend, but I can't leave the house until we have power back after Isaac knocked it out. The hitch came in real handy as I used the tractor and one of the M105's yesterday to pick up 4 loads of limbs and branches...

    Trailer toter for my tractor

Use some here, clean some up and sell them, the some will probably be parted and scraped. Two of the M105's have consecutive serial numbers to match the consecutive serial number M35A2s I have. Two other M105's go with the M109A3s, one M101A2 I'll use on the road with my pickups, 2 M101A1s...

    Trailer toter for my tractor

She's happier that the weeds are gone, but not so much with all the trailers in her horse pasture. I tell her they will keep me busy when I retire next year, and I won't be pestering her so much.

    Trailer toter for my tractor

It took no time at all to move the trailer horde/motorpool from one location loaded with weeds to clean location.

    Trailer toter for my tractor

As my signature says, I have too many trailers. That's usually not a problem (don't ask my wife, tho), except that I have to move them to bush hog to keep the weeds down. I looked at m16ty’s tractor hitch he built...

I'd come depending on the dates, since I have to be out of state a lot. I just can't commit to a date until the last minute. If I'm in town, count me in.

Purchase Private vs. GovLiq or other

It depends. I've seen mislabled horrors at GL during previews, and got good deals there with blind bids. The recent flurry of M931s sold by GL recently at ~$3K are now on Craigslist for $16K, so private sellers aren't always a good deal...

Cummins Problems - I figured out what my miss was.

Ouch ! That brings back bad memories. The good thing is the Cummins is so rugged that the rest of the engine is probably just fine. The bad thing is that the heads, piston and liners are hard to find. I later ended up buying a second M818 just for parts in case it happened again -...

Extra Storage Space for your M109

I like also [thumbzup] Great place for slave cable, tow bar, extension cords, air lines, ladder, tarps, ropes, deuce cover, cheater bar for lug wrench, short-term secure storage for firearms while on the road, farm jack, anything that can fit in .30 cal ammo cans, or just about anything that...
