The truck has the demilled DWF kit and I will get it back together. My 1990 M998 had its sensor cup on a frame rail I believe. I understand the newer models have it mounted more up front. Anyone have a pic of where they are located now? This M1097a2 was rebuilt in 2014 in case it matters.
Hi Chief, I am fairly near you and my government AO is from the Fl line over to Freeport area. Through your area alot. Plus my friend is in Pace, not much of a forum guy but has a fine M998 and two deuces.

Yessir I did. Welded three small bolts onto each 1/3rd of the pulley and the puller grabbed a hold and got it right off. Pretty good rust under it. I can see why it was seized.
May be wrong forum for this but my purchase was March 11...Euc finally submitted after I had one turn back due to a mistake on Apr 24 and it got approved on June 12.
BTW, is 25713 a boat number? Just curious.
Well, almost to the point of being desperate to get this pulley off. This is the last thing keeping the HMMWV from cranking. I ended up ruining this clutch pulley, did not mean to but this thing just wont release from the shaft. Now, this is what is left on the shaft.....I tried chain vise...
Are they both supposed to be tracking the same or is there offset? They do not look like they would track the same on the other pulleys. I believe the outside edge of the solid pulley is about. 5" farther out than the clutch pulley.
Going to try chain vise grip wrapped around the pulley and that should be large enough of a surface so the claw puller can grab hold.
I cant take credit for that excellent idea. A friend in Midland City, Al. Came up with that.
Dealing with an alternator that someone gave me. it has a different pulley than the one I have that is bad. I was able to pull the pulley off of the one that came off my M1097a2, to put on the newly acquired one but cant get the pulley off. The 3 jaw puller won't fit behind it. Before I get...
Could someone please direct me to the thread that showed how to make the plastic gauges clear again? Cant find it.
I am assuming using something like the headlight cover polisher.
Got the whole front end tore down. Question is that my new water pump came with a gasket for the pump to adapter and one for adapter to block.
Tearing this thing apart, it had RTV only from adapter to block and gasket from pump to adapter. Does it really matter which I choose? As long as not...
My 1097 needs new covers too. For my M923a2, I recently bought 3 yds of cordura 1000 nylon off Amazon and had local stitch shop just make them. Charged $150 and they look perfect. The high back seats will look good too.
