This is a joke. these guys aern't mechanics if they cant quickly diagnose a no start on a 3116. First problem i see is you have kids comming out to look at a mechanical injection system. The mechanics coming out of the trade schools these days aren't even trained on these systems anymore they...
they let me register my lmtv but it took a call to the capitol and a fax of of my sf97 to do so. thats why i say save teh document or a copy of it incase some know it all trys to challenge you on it.
if you have a copy of the origional sf 97 you might try but i saw the memorandum when my lmtv was registered it stated that the soa would not issue a title to any military surplus hmmwv or see's. i asked about bringing one from another state with a title and i was told the title would not be...
The reason the military changed was enhanced performance . when you change to super single tires all the tires run through the same track on teh duals the out side and inside duals are running on on the out side and inside track of the front tires, when pushing through soft surfaces that means...
hate to break your heart the hmmwv's are restricted from road use in the state of ak. as a visitor you might get away with out of state plates but if you reside hear over a year you are required to get ak plates and the state of ak wont issue plates to any thing that was issued an off road only...
that engine belongs to the 6000 pound military standrad rt forklifts built by chrysler or athey there was one other company making them i cant remember, but i think it might have been pettibone
Nice to see i'm not the only one that noticed this. When I swore to protect and defend the constitution and the country it wasn't the police state it now is.
if you juce up an a-3 engine you have to do something about the transmission those little allisons are a great trans but a ho 3116 is going to smoke it the best way to upgrade is to find some one selling a ho 3116 from a fmtv.
I would pull a sample and send it off it happened to me once on the same kind of engine it had spun a bearing than it spun back it worked for4 a week than the noise came back and stayed.
When you replaced the radiator did you remove the oil cooler, if the oil cooler and ports are plugged there is your problem. and yes now you will need a new motor
You have to decide what your preferences for most of your driving is going to be. If you are driving on the interstate and are going to run around 70 mph you are going to need good year mvt tires and alter the ctis to allow for higher tire pressures. I don't normally have to drive faster than 55...
I would have to dig up the box for the part number but yes you can use a cat starter I have one in mine the cat starter is a delco and built much better than the prestoite mine bent thr clutch fork on the presto light it was a light little stamping the delco one is cast and much more robust
I drove one in Iraq the suspension sucks, but there is no money in running unloaded. they are a great truck for dirt work hauling belly dumps and such what they are not is a otr truck, and the shorter wheel base will affect the bridge formula and will likely limit weight you can put on the...
the npr trucks had a 4 bd1 turbo engine in them with an automatic trans. The engines were like Subaru motors known for outlasting the trucks, they will run smoother than a 4 bt , they have a 3 gallon oil pan on them , the injection system is all mechanical and you can set them up to shut down...
back in the late 80s the military had a high heat paint don't ask me the nsn cause I cant remember I painted a whole generator with it and it looked pretty good .
