im looking at a vx3 mounted on a fwd chassis the blower has a 6 v 92 power package if I decide to get it it will make getting in and out of my un maintained road a cinch.
a bad turbo charger can leak compressed air in to the crank case through the compressor seal with out leaking oil back through the intake side I have seen this on holstet and cat turbos.
I keep thinking about a plow for my truck but the snow I have to go through would crush a pickup plow. my snow is all wind blown I would need a commercial plow or a drift cutter would be better yet. maybe a reversacast plow will come up for sale on the west coast and I will jump on it.
just read the article its spot on, I had 2 active duty 91bs working for me that twice put atf in a duce transmission because they didn't know what gl 90 was. when asked if they had ever preformed an annual service I was told no that they had contractors that did it for them. when we worked in...
the transfercase was a np 203 they had a center differential with chain drive, they were heavy as he double toothpick. mile marker made a part time conversion that changed the operation of the t- case to part time and allowed the installation of locking hubs. those old full time trucks handled...
I'm old enough to like the old road oilers to but as far as the l9000 goes get rid of it I have one in our fleet they are hard as he double tooth pick to find parts for some of the steering parts are just not available.
y]the number 1 fuel in the oil problem is the cross over copper tubes between the fuel injectors they get brittle and crack they should be changed every time you pull an injector or run the overhead.
the 30 / 70 split between front and rear is relative to weight in the rear if the rear axle is loaded heavyer than the front power will flow to the front first I have experienced this several times on the ice.
I received my winterfront cover, I cant figure out how to install it, and cant find any references in the tm about it. Any one got any pics of one installed, -30 is coming in a couple days and I don't want to be fiddeling around than trying to get it on.
lockers and limited slip differentials are a 2 edged sward you can get increased forward traction with them, but they can also make driving on ice unpredictable especially the govlock, the best solution is a selectable locker like the arb . Chains on the rear are a good idea, I have at times on...
t don't think you want the 2wd automatic tunnel cover they are usually smaller and wont clear the transfer case you could use a 2 wd manual cover but you would still have a hole to deal with
I thought my lmtv was a baby only a mother could love those have mine beat. I have to admit that 6x6 drive system was interesting and seemed to work well so their engineers are thinking out of the box. now that daf is partners with kenworth I suppose you could say you have a kw military vehicle
I don't understand why you would need any more than 3 inch exhaust with a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel, its not going to make any more hp. The old gen 1 blocks had more on the interior webbing and were more durable. I understand the full circle rear main seal tended to leak less, I had a 6.2 na in a...
also a 205 degree thermostat will regulate the temp right around 200 degrees coupled with a winter front and maube an aux heater in the back like a van you will be toasty warm. I have done just the thermostat on many pickups and it has worked wonders for heat also a little advance in the timing...
