Sorry bud but Tinstar is correct whether it is a train or trucks the tie-down is the same.there are actually manuals for shipping and how it should be done. There also is a thread about it.
Nice score on the dump truck

Hwy use won't be dogging on it hard unless in some hills or rolling 68 mph on my G177s
Any specifics on it so us others can dream of the power he will have. I have several other turbos to pick from, up to a stock 400 cummins turbo, that thing is huge.

Put a capstan winch on the back and use rope that is part of the BII anyways. It will let you control how fast and the tension on the rope and rope is much lighter than even 1/4" cable and much more useful with the block and tackle on board. I would recommend 600' of 1/2" of a good spec not...
Okay just got off the phone with profo and Trailboss looks like we will leave my AO at 0700 on the 19th. Anyone wanting to join in can meet us here anytime before that. I have power and water hookups and a black water dump if needed. Fair warning if you are here more than 48 hours early you will...
Speaking of the kids doing burnouts and here comes one! I don't need all of that extra hardware. Now if I was after 800 horsepower like your little ford I might need all that but I want something reliable for more than 300 miles a year.[emoji41]

Okay so we have bigger exhaust so what single turbo would get us a little more flow without to much lag, would like a water cooled ball bearing center.

Thanks Porkysplace, Sawdustnsteel let's back up I want to thank you for your service and I see you are retired and I am going to assume something here and I am sorry if I am wrong but you are medically retired and under 30 and if this is true thank you for your sacrifice. Now back to the thread...
So I take it you don't know big rigs at all. These trucks have drum air brakes and if you upgrade it to disk it will have disk (rotors) air brakes. You will have air brakes no ifs ands or buts. Now I know why you think it will all fit, you have little to no mechanical knowledge and think you can...
Budd wheels in any size you can think of are readily available, but the only tires tall enough to go 80 mph that you listed are going to be 395/85/20 rated 68 mph and lower and 14.00R 20 and 16.00R 20 rated at 55 mph and lower. The 1000.00 dollar tire was a snide comment that most around here...
Do yourself a favor and get a civilian alternator and bracket from 74m35a2 on here unless you are going for a Museum class restoration. You will be way ahead. the stock 60 amp is a pig.

Would the problem be with guys jacking with them or in stock usage?
I haven't noticed a lot of guys fussing about the turbos failing on the 8.3. The shaft size shouldn't be a big problem on a big slow diesel military truck unlike the little hotrod dodge idiots doing burnouts and tractor pulls...
I believe that most of the problems are ground related as the headlights are a known problem before LED'S came out. I once had 4 headlights go out on one trip of 400 miles. If your ground isn't good it increases the resistance across the circuit and this can change the voltage that the lights...
Tell us about those grand apiece tire that you have found that will hold up to 80 mph and I will be glad to give you all the information you need to run that fast or more and just to be a nice guy and share the first thing you are going to need is a disk brake upgrade.

And this is the stuff I am after but I am one of these bullet heads that wants to see it all and I bet there are others like me.
Run it until I rip it in half then upgrade unless you want to give me a 7speed Allison. By the way think 50 year old CSM driving his own truck not 20 year old...
Also as you have shown here there are many different HX40 and unlike Garrett finding out the A/R of the compressor housing is a pain. And I see many folks not just you knock the HX40 as not being a good turbo but I don't see lots of people who have had problems with them, but do see lots of...
Need to find out exactly what we have to start with before we start throwing parts at it most turbos that come stock on an engine can put out more air than that engine can use. As for my power I am looking for I am going to be looking at what the highest factory settings were and see about...
