    Cummins 350 injector pump on a 250

AND, the cam lift might be different. You need to look in a CPL book or better yet an injector book to see what cam is used. Was/is the 350 a big or small cam?

Sherman, Hellcat, Priest Wright 975-C4 Radial

I got it rebuilt, but, Brent and Craig are friends, might not hurt to have a 2nd kit on hand!

    Still not starting or idling

So the engine will not turn over, as in no crank after shut down? 600 is low. Look on the engine data plate, I believe idle should be 700. Checking fuel system as follows. In the picture, Restriction from the truck, yellow circle. Lift Pump output pressure, black circle. Pressure drop across...

    Still not starting or idling

You didn't say it would idle all day in neutral, it would idle only if you held rpm above 800. What rpm does it idle at? You need to check pressures and restriction.

    Turn Signal Issues

Something got hot in that pic!

    Still not starting or idling

Exactly....IF the trans is FUBAR, it won't. It is trying to start fully loaded. A MINIMUM of 200 RPM....per Cumins...is needed to make one lite off...it will at a lower rpm, but NOT with a load. Before you go messing with pump settings, remove the converter bolts. It is...depending on the...

    Cummins PT pump Diagnostics

AND, what the attached does not mention, IF you think you have a pump/engine issue, divide the system in half, engine/truck, by ELIMINATING the chassis. If the engine runs/accelerates fine with a line directly from the engine into a clean bucket of go juice, the issue is on the chassis. Keep in...

    Cummins PT pump Diagnostics

This applies to basically ALL Cummins PT pumps, AFC or non AFC. If the pump you are working on does not have an AFC....non turbocharged engine....skip over the parts that relate to AFC operation. Thanks Simp, good find! And, this is directly from the Cummins troubleshooting steps.

Rebuilt 250 has maxed out oil pressure

Put a known good gauge in one of the ports. Verify against the dash gauge. No troubleshooting for high OP per Cummins, but, a stuck regulator will cause it. Did your failure put debris into the oil pan? If so, godd possibility debris in the regulator.

    Still not starting or idling

Hard lines are pressure lines. If they leak, no air will be introduced into the system. You will just have a giant fuel mess.

    Still not starting or idling

If it runs and drives but shuts off at idle or when you come to a stop, COULD be a messed up trans/converter. If the trans or converter is f-ed up, the engine is seeing a load all the time, the trans stops turning so it kills the engine. Does it smoke on start up? Easy thing to do to eliminate...

    Cummins 350 injector pump on a 250

If you run an AFC pump on a non turbo engine, you will have zero power. Needs the turbo to make the pump work. You COULD run air to the AFC....20 psi or so max....and it will work. It will smoke like a freight train on accel!

    Does it run better?

    Starter Bendix Help

A friend of the Museum had his jeep towed to the Museum with a no crank issue, troubleshoothin found the issue to be the starter locked up. Pulled the starter and found that the front capscrew that holds the spring to the bendix had come out and wedged itself between the bendix and housing. The...

Cummins NHC 250 High Idle Problem

If there is an issue of taking air it will be on the suction side. Eliminate the truck to see if it is a pump or truck issue.

how do I change my screen name?

Ah, the ol' finger stutter! I do not have the power to do that, I think only admin can do that, Steelsoldiers or Patracy. I am sure one of them will see this.

    Passenger side fuel tank installation

No, install a cross over for fill. I used copper piping....well, first I used black PVC pipe, but the heat from the 454 melted it!....Make a "T" for each tank filler neck, use two pieces and join them in the middle with fuel resistant hose. When you start fueling either side, go crack the cap on...

    M927 no start

Best you can do is give it a try. If the pump f's up, you'll know why.
