Also the breaker type fuses can act a bit funny. But my best advise is a hammer and if that doesn't fix it , then it must be an electrical issue. I also have a complete takeout heater unit as well.
No where in the NW that I know of. I've been looking as well. My truck came missing the spare, I've been putting together a rim and the parts I have, their best days have past.
Well I have a lot of the specialty tool for the axles and just north of you. No lift or press though. The size of these trucks require special lifts. But it's easy enough to craw underneath.
Navy doesn't use the FMTV class of vehicles. By my brother in-law used to be a civilian vehicle mechanic at ft Lewis. He has given me a bit of advise, however the folks here have been able to help me a lot more. My advice is if your not willing to tear into one of these and want to bring it...
The majority of the 3116 engines produced were of the 175 hp variety. They could not be turned up much without breaking parts. The engines in the FMTV platforms with the 225 and up all have the stronger internals for higher hp. I believe the parts change was at the stock 185hp and up.
A 3 7/8" very deep well socket, RTV, and a way to measure to set the gear lash on the reduction gears. To just check the bearings you may be able to get away with not changing seals. The torque on the hub nut is surprisingly light.
Lots of good info in the planetary hub set up post, for gear lash at the hubs. The center sections themselves are like A ford 9". And will be pre set up for ring and pinion lash
1083 will have 290 hp, and the A1 330 with the 3126 engine. There is the rack travel screw that will get you more HP, but the two engine types are known to build heat fast "EGT". And at those ratings they are near the peak of designed output.
