I've made really good progress today. The passenger side is all apart except the seal(s) inside the axle housing. The driver's side is where I'm hung up: what's the trick to getting the steering arm to let go of the steering knuckle? I've got the bolts off and have given it some significant love...
I've made some good progress today getting the brake shoe assemblies and backing plates off, and just removed the tie rod. BUT in so doing I damaged the threads on one of the tie rod nuts. Anyone have these in stock or should I look again at McMaster-Carr or something?
Nevermind the tie-rod nut...
Day 3: began to remove the first axle flange, and on the 3rd bolt I broke my ratchet.
Edit: Day 3 continued. I switched over to using a box-end wrench inside a 3' steel pipe and removed the remaining bolts, BUT one of them sheared off deep in the hub. I suppose I need a new hub now? I could try...
Priority #1 right now is to do the front axle boot repair. I'm guessing if I had shown up in the deuce today instead of a F-150 they would have stuck around a minute.

Get done everything from pg 1 of this thread in 3 hours? My first time? I am not seeing that happening...I am not the fastest with these things, though.
Here's a question: assume I only have a couple hours a week to work on this. Is it OK to leave the deuce sitting on jack stands under the front axle housing for like a month? Not sure if that would be a good idea or not...
Noticed my boot / seal leaking today. Well, I didn't see the leak but noticed globs of grease on the tire.
I'll do a search but are zippered or non-zippered boots superior?
