Interesting question.
The regulations apply to commercial vehicles.
If you are not operating commercially you are not required to update the vehicle.
The flatbed is either the load, removable, or part of the vehicle, bolted.
Since you converted the vehicle you may be required to comply...
If they are original seals it was just there time.
Last time I lost a seal it soaked they brakes but the shoes and drums cleaned up real nice. The cost was for the labor to do both axles. In addition to seals and hub gaskets he also replaced the rollers, springs, s cam bushings and slack...
Guard rails can be your friend.
If you have to stop in front of the guard rail. It is best to get out of the vehicle and wait on the other side of the guard rail behind the disabled vehicle if there is room
I see a lot of people that sit on the guard rail or stay in there vehicle which is bad...
In recent years there has been an excessive use of flashing lights and now the color distinction has gone by the wayside. It used to be that work trucks used Amber, fire trucks red and the police used red and sometimes blue, now it is a mixed up mess. Fire trucks also used to be red and the USFS...

Any thoughts or comments on these units?

There are also multiple torque converters...
It is illegal to remove, disable or have an inoperative low air buzzer. This is a very important federally required safety device. This is an out of service condition that can result in your vehicle being impounded.
Even if you are not operating commercially you can be pulled over for an...
We can debate which welder is better till the end of time.
My advice to the OP is to look into some training before you purchase a welder. Training is available at night schools, vocational schools, community college and some welding places.
You should ask the school to see if they provide...
Preview, preview, preview or buy cheap.
The auction that my truck came out of had six trucks. The preview determined three were worth bidding on. The other trucks had issues. One had a rusty can that had been poorly patched up. One had a bad transmission, the rear cover was held on by a couple...
A truetrac is not a locker, it is a limited slip differential. It is still a lot better than an open differential.
One of my navy trucks has Detroit lockers in each of the rear axles and the other one has an air locker.
