With the engine running just loosen one injector pipe at a time, and you will immediately know which cylinders are not firing.
At that time check if the ones you loosen are in fact squirting, or the fault lies elsewhere.
Whatever truck you choose..This is a 'habit' you are going to find hard to break!.

But generally, If you have an M series old truck, then, If it is not working you will not stop it.
If it is working, you will be able to stop it, IF the brakes are serviced bled adjusted and functioning properly.
And that was pulling a full load. RPM's and changes always the same, NO over reving..My M62 has always (and still) does the job. OK..not in a rush..but it does it.
Hmmm..12 years good clutch no wear..I just have >that feel< (and) treat my trucks 'carefully'.

14 trucks in our 'fleet' all any any of them drained on acquisition, and dot4 placed in all of them.
All good so far. (And that's after 12-14 years!)
They are all 'drained through' every two or three years.
