Quite a usefull trailer that.
The Laundry unit (Type) look like used by new Zealand / Australian forces circa 1943-1950. But the pintle is different and they did not have 'square' box like mudguards.
That one (Yours?) has square mudguards.
The U.S. trailers (I believe) Had round mudguards.
They...
Well, today after working on the trailer, I braved the non working indicator lights, Intermittent driving lights, and brake light faults on the Packard Staff Car.
Nightmare!.
Positive earth system.
Tracing faulty wires to the turn signals..(nightmare!) So, Cut all the wartime connectors off...
I really like that truck, It is 'suitably' desirably and beautifully 'Ugly'.
Something more than different to drive around in and present at shows.
(That, is) My 'sort of 'truck. Love it!.
you CAN restore ALL of the original features..takes time, but, More than worth it.
Made a start on getting the trailer ready to carry the 'Goods'.
Fit the wedges to secure the tow pin under the turntable.
Altering the Push Bar on the M62 to bake for better shoving. (It has a drop pin now, But will have a Rear tow Hitch mounted on the front of the Wrecker Bumper (Makes using...

Low Air in the towed Item = No Go.

Reflecting (as one does..) I reckon I spend 1/8 of my "life" on the site..If not posting, then certainly perusing and reading comments tips 'warnings'...
That is one serious trailer...Well done. or well done when you get it home.
I cann't even visualize using that over here in the U.K. But I would sure like trying!.
'Things' that sound really bad, and are 'odd' enough to cause you concern, should be fixed before starting or driving any vehicle.
Try to get a local member to have look at it with you.
Very nice adaption..(fumbles around for a pencil)..Now to go fix MY jeep, And thank you.
A car, A plane, a military thing/s, I didn't see a boat..but what a beautiful looking shop.
Nice truck, (and) tough as they come. Pity about the V8. Petrol though. (if fitted) they are good for all of 3 to 6 miles to a gallon. (U.S.).
These trucks are really good if you fit an economical diesel unit into them. (Ah Lah URAL etc).
oil pressure is straight forward, just T the pipe to each gauge. As analogue gauges are the best and true to use.
There is usually more than one take out point for Analogue (reliable) gauges for temperature on most engines,So again straight forward.
My 1/2 penne'th. (As all my gauges are...
You will be reflecting.."trouble is my name", Don't worry just go for it. Welcome to the site and the hobby.
Also the friendships and events to come when you have your truck. Good luck, and as said, post up pictures when you get it..................and another.....and another...and..
