Follow Kredds advice there, I had that problem with my fire truck after We fitted air power steering, The 'helper' had not centred the steering geometry.
So, I disconnected the drop arm and counted the full turns lock to lock.
The counted half way back.

They, (any 24 volt truck system) Has negative grounding.
A lot of cars used to be positive earth (ground) and that resulted in excessive corrosion at the chassis.
Manufacturers then reverted back to Negative ground. (which alleviated the problem).
Your truck is (very definitely) Negative...
