    Great! What was the problem?

    B-17 Flying Fortress

WOW, that picture - impressive! 1942?

    B-17 Flying Fortress

Here is an old post of mine... I had the pleasure of meeting "Sally B", back in 2012. I can still hear it... when all those cylinders finally came to life - a beautiful concert of roaring radial engines! And here is a bit about her story... G.

    HMMWV Sealant

Yes, PU-sealant/adhesive. No silicone at all; 1000 different uses and applications, at least...! Search for SIKAFLEX 221, here on this site and you'll be surprised in how many threads it was mentioned...

    Who pays this?

A fool, with more money than brain...? Or someone who wanted it a bit more than the second highest bidder...? Someone who really needed this NOW, and didn't have the time and patience of waiting until next auction...?

M818 Transfer case stuck in low range

Yes to what Floridianson said: Pulled all the way out (forward; to front of truck) is low range. G.

    FLU tires

While I do understand what you're saying... this wasn't my experience, so far. But then, I have never had a reason to run my MPT's below 20 psi, not even in soft and dry, coarse grained sand, which is the worst ground, IMHO! BTW: the lowest recommended TP for 12.5s and 14.5s is around 16psi. I...

    FLU tires

My opinion, as well. (I know you meant to say 12.5R20). Obviously there is a reason for the (newer) 335/80R20 and 365/80R20 MPT81 tires from Conti for example, to have a deeply recessed bead area and even featuring a raised rib which protrudes from the rim flange outer edge. G.

Put two multifuels into a warehouse and watch them multiply!

Was told to get "back-up" lights, so,,,,,,

Simple: when you put the top back on, the first-reverse fork missed the large gear's collar. Then, when shifting into reverse, that gear slid all the way to the back of transmission and remained there - which means, engaged in reverse.

    .

You probably know it by now: your MT654 housing is in fact 6.50 inches deep; just confirmed. And yes, there is plenty of material on the transmission side, but if you removed more than 3/4" you'd soon fall into the pocket for the fording plug. And more than 1" would start compromising the...

    Down Deuce

99% sure that the seal is NOT blown; that you have other problems... But that, we can address later. Secure truck with wheel chocks!! Make sure the engine is not simply overfilled with oil - or worse, oil plus fuel!? Fill to CORRECT level! Remove this cover plate..., get a quart of brake...

    B-29: The "Kee Bird" Disaster

Such a shame! Hard to believe that the only one fire extinguisher was in the back, inside the plane? I guess they learned that even in the arctic you'd better have enough of them at hand, when playing with such expensive toys!? BTW: I don't think I could have sat still there in a chair and...

    M35A2 Winch Oil

Yes - and not so difficult, actually: oil creeps, even vertically. Also, the sleeve bearing has oil grooves cut in it.

    M35A2 Winch Oil

Yes, there is... Pour a cup or two of gear oil inside the drum. Either before final assembly, or after removing this plug....

    Hub flip question

Every Deuce has four of those "spacers" - unless they fell off when flipping the rear hubs...:) Actually, that is a cup which comes spot-welded to the drum center disc. One can clearly see the 4 weld spots in picture #4. Only once did I find one that had separated. It's very rare...

    Custom keyed power switch

Actually it has four terminals, for two independent circuits, if you wanted. (A-B and C-D) Here is a diagram which shows what is what, inside that switch. Also, how it was wired to work in combination with a simple keyed switch and also control a second, auxiliary 12V-circuit.

    M939 Transfer case reseal

Good explanation, overall! Only detail I must disagree with is requiring (maybe) less shims, after eliminating the center gasket... For all three shafts, these shims go in between cover flange and housing, not under the bearing cup(s). So the gap between cover and housing will actually...

    IP installment with a mystery

Agree on that! Also, one would tend to think that pump rebuilders all have a test stand and do test-run their products before putting their tag on it...?
