MEP-002a poor performance under load test

Did you adjust the fuel at the injection pump? That stud and nut that holds them down also alows you to turn the IP in the block when loose. When you turn it your basicly allowing the rack to slighly close off the fuel output. Im not sure of the proper way to adjust them but im sure its in...

    Finally joined the MEP-803A club...

Home heating oil is basicly diesel and they dont make everone have double wall tanks on them. **** i have about 150 gal in a tank im my basement right now. Prob been there for 30 years. I would perfer a steel tank also with the only fitting coming out of the top in this case. I have seen...

    MEP 802A Load Issue

I had a 802 that would move about 4 in across a concrete floor in about 15min. They do vibrate more than the 4cyl but as long as you can load it to 5kw i would call it good.

    MEPs and Hurricane Irma

With my 802a i have ran the electric oven and one burner just fine, with about 12 CFL lights on also. I did turn the electric dryer on and it ran just fine but was at 100* so didnt run it long. The 802 ran my heat pump water heater, 240v well pump and some lights with the oven on just fine. I...

    MEP803A part question

New fuel lines can be had from amazon. 20ft for about $32 enough to do one 803a and have some left over. Theres a sticky i believe about it. Might be in the 802/803 parts and filters thread.

    MEP 802A Load Issue

Useing a air compressor or any electric motor is not a good load test. Do you have a electric stove or hot water heater you can properly load test is? If you put new/used injection pumps in could you have clocked them wrong? Turning them in the block is basicly there fuel adjustment.

    803a hours

I would spend the extra few hundred bucks and get a lower hour unit. One you can pass onto your children. Im sure the engine will be fine but the rest of it will be prety wooped. It only takes one electrical problem to stop making power when you need it the most.

    MEPs and Hurricane Irma

Getting to know your unit can really help in the time of need like Guyfang said. Do a load test at night and a test run on your house on a rainy day. Most likely wont be sunny and 80* when the power goes out. Make sure you print out the important parts of the TM. If not print the whole thing...

    Generators at GL ?

Most all of these "home stand by generators" are just lawn mower engines with a fancy controls and a nice cover. If it makes you feel good if the thing starts by its self every week then buy a stand by gen. If you want it to be there when you need it buy something else. This is all despite...

MEP-803a, runs, but a couple quirks

The temp gauges are just like every other gauge on the system...take them with a grain of salt. Mine reads 200* on the gauge but is actualy about 180* at the sensor on the water pump. I use the gauge for refrence only now.

    MEP-803A For Post-Hurricane Temp Power?

You live in FL and dont have a decent generator? Kinda late to find a well priced unit. Best to look post hurricane season. Dont forget a few fuel cans to go along with the generator

    Generators at GL ?

If you can cut back on A/C useage u might beable to get away with a 5kw unit.

Fuel and Temp Gauges went wonky

If your grounding the sensor wires on the back of the gauge and have 24v at the gauge and you get mo movement you have bad gauges. My fuel gauge went dead from my trailer to its resting place. Towed it 300mi home and went dead in 50ft. Stewart werner makes a good replacement gauge for the fuel.

    Scepter Fuel Nozzle Failure

Your buying the wrong cans. These racing style cans have a 3/4npt plug in the top and cost half as much. There a bit thicker than the LCI water cans. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Two-Handled-5-Gallon-Utility-Jug,1112.html

    Help identifying this generator

I would make sure they produce power and the correct HZ before you go any further. If they do what you want i would just cut the wires behind that plug and install a normal 120v outlet. Will take some carefull cutting....or you could just install a outdoor electrical box and cover.

MEP 803A Starting Issue at Control Panel

Hold it in crank and fiddle with the diodes behind the control pannel. There lined up vertical on the back left behind the control pannel. There connection is just wite wraped around a post, not the best designed thing.

Best way to clean an 002/003 fuel tank

You guys should try useing a length of chain to clean the tank out. No risk of leaving any scrubbing material in the tank. Last 275gal drum i cleaned out i tied a string to the chain for easy removal.
