I've been trying to understand what exactly is needed to make a normal radio deck into a one that fits over the turbo doghouse.
Is it just the extended base?
Are there spacers between the a pillar and back of the deck?
Is the turbo deck itself any different than the non turbo one?
I'm not sure that I know of any lip pieces. I planned on just cutting the body and slapping the doghouse on it. I'm not sure while people keep saying the lip is required.
Funny thing about the operation manual is it doesn't say anything about shifting quickly.
All I know is that you have to be quick through neutral. I usually hit the lever to shift the fastest. No grinding when I do that, although it's kinda weird that the internal components of the t case...
Do you know if the normal 6.5 turbo crossover exhaust pipe will fit right in with the original exhaust pipe/muffler config?

Or would I need to get the Catalytic converter and the different muffler?
I have the frag 5 armored door seals on my x doors and I get no rain in from my soft top. I've been in some pretty bad rain storms and even then the seals hold up well. The standard x door seals are the crappiest design I have ever seen.
The con of the frag 5 seals is that it makes the doors a...
Humvees use torsen differentials. They are classified as limited slip diffs. You can look up plenty of videos on how they work on YouTube.
Basically to lock the diffs you use the brake pedal slightly which will essentially lock the diff. (But the beauty of a torsen diff is that it can still...
I contacted esterline about the switch. They have received no notice from the military about switches burning. Absolutely no reports. All they got was notice that the switches would stop working, not catch fire.
I have to wonder why the military wouldn't notify the manufacturer about switches...
I have a 6.5NA harness, put it in to support my 4l80.
ECV hood? Are you saying I need the ecv radiator stack and the extended hose? I'm confused as to what you are getting at there.
Had the same problem when I got my humvee. The tunnel would burn if you touched it on a hot day. I got tired of it and put down a 2" rubber mat over the entire tunnel. I've had no problems with the mat.
I'm starting this thread so I can get a lot of answers for my numerous questions now and ones that will pop up as I go through the swap.
I am currently in the process of getting a GEP 6.5 TD, it runs, but other than that I don't have info on it, yet. I have acquired the Doghouse recently.
What...
Red dot systems are extremely durable on road, but components can begin to fail on rough roads off road. Humvee suspension+washboard=broken ****.
Toolkit is necessary for this setup because if the compressor seizes you need to remove the belt (if its still intact lol).
Hopefully my problem was...
