    M1009 towing M101A2 trailer

Lower profile tires on the 16" rims will work.

    M1009 towing M101A2 trailer

Bolt pattern is 8 on 6 1/2. Center hole is the small GM hole. Almost every aftermarket rim has the larger center hole. 15" rims are an easy get. If you really want to level your trailer, seek a lower profile tire for the existing rims. Something around a 205-70 maybe. Changing the angle the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I know this is water under the bridge but the 81-82 bumper had turn signals within. Unlike the blackout holes, the holes for the shackles are not stamped with a lip so they can be carefully cut in.

Front axles not working in 4 wheel drive

    I don't think there is a 4.55 gearset for the D60.

Need expert help about high pinion D60

I don't think you are wrong. I can say with certainty that GM didn't use them in the 77-91 trucks but I can't speak with authority about the 4500 and 5500 trucks.

    700R4 Transmission from a V6 Camaro

Probably a 200R4. Definitely has the V6 bellhousing.

What was the question that preceeded this answer?

1953 “gasser” deuce build thread/ adventure

My "Go to" parts source, especially for gassers, is White Owl in Kinston NC. When you figure out what you need, pick up the phone and give them a ring.

    1/2" air line

    That will work wonders.

    Motor swaps

I agree that an iron LS would be great. Smooth starting in any weather, great power and economy too.

    700r4 TV Cable Bracket Installation

Nope. Why not post in the wanted section?
  12. Recovry4x4

    700R4 TV cable bracket substitute?

I can't speak intelligently about the M998 but that isn't the rod for the 6.2/700R4 bracket.

Bobbed or singled deuce with Detroit and icy roads feedback

You can do some neat stuff with the NoSpin as long as you think about what it's doing. I slid the back of my truck down a side hill getting it lined up in the driveway. With that said, it does dogtrack on the driveway going up. I need to get it out in a few more storms to check it's true...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

My SECM has a $150 gear reduction starter from eBay. It's been on there for 5 years or better without issue. My old 91 burb with a 6.2 had a similar 12V gear reduction unit. I find no issue with them. I have a CME rebuilt 28MT on the shelf just in case one quits. Thanks Swiss.

    Recovery: M1010

Yikes. At least it has a nice body.

    Well, is it tan yet?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Read up on those. Aftermarket rarely fit and NOS are unobtanium.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Remember that in that era of GM products, the ignition key was square and always differed from the door keys. The CUCV was the exception. I'm sure the aftermarket could or already has, fixed this.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Forecasters said dusting,. Yardstick said 10". Go figure.

    Best source for 700R4?

Speaking for myself,. I don't need the brute strength of the 205 or the expense of the Atlas but I do need the 2.61 low range. Anyone have any idea of the cost comparison of the Atlas and the Lomax.
