my experience with lmtv transmissions is that you will mot move it back far enough to gain access to the flex coupling. The trans slides back a few inches than will have to be lowered and tilted to move it back than leveled again. I was quite happy to find my flywheel ring gear was good and that...
the seal is the inner axle seal its leaking differential fluid. the wheel bearings in the hub are greased the real reason for the boot is to keep water and debries from getting into the bearings through the back side of the spindle, unless you have the old rezeppa type joint than you need a...
I just learned about it 2 weeks ago had to change an engine in a 17 silvarado that went swimming, on the new ls engines if they hydro lock they break connecting rods.
The new chevy and fords have non adjustable components like ac compressors and power steering pumps. That tool is to stretch the special serpentine belt on I doubt it will work with a normal serpentine belt or a v belt, the stretch fit belts are designed to stretch more than a regular belt and...
the hmmwv will start reliably down to - 20 with good batterys and glow plugs. just look at my location This is how I know. if you are driving daily a block heater is a good thing more important is heating the atf. The 3l80 is just a turbo 400 with out park, the weak spot of the 400 is early...
mine has been doing the same thing I need to order up a starter drive. Also while the starter is out you should inspect the starter ring gear the teeth are huge on them and failure is rare but does happen.
Most likely that is the problem, mine has started doing the same thing I need to pull it and replace the bendix, while mine is out I intend to ck the flywheel 3116's will eat flywheel ring gears when they fail it usually is in 3 seprate spots.
Im no expert on the fmtv system but I believe the differential lock is only for the inter axle power divider I think the rest of the differential is still open. If that is the case and you are doing this to lessen driveline angles than the lock would have to be applied all the time or power...
its an upgrade that can and should be added to all c-7's it comes as a kit even if your sn isn't covered if you had to replace 1 hui pump and a set of injectors I bet you would add the filter than.
What I would do is get some engine de greaser than go to the magic wand car wash and clean every thing up. after it dries off you should be able to run it a short time to find the leak. With the cab down and the fan blowing the velocity of the air moving over the engine will blow oil every...
don't rule out a worn cam bumper on the points. the wrong point gap will change timing and improper coil saturation will equate to a loss of power. also a bad condenser can cause the points to arc.
I would have suggested relays they tend to be pretty obvious. the vim box is more of a secret for us fmtv enthusiast. As superman stated the best way would be a hidden interrupter switch.
on a diesel there are only 2 things required to run fuel and compression. I believe you have concluded it has fuel, so I would apply air pressure to your #5 cylinder, and listen at the intake exhaust and oil filler hole for escaping air. if you hear air in the intake you have a bad intake valve...
